I actually had concerns that the great sales of watch dogs would teach ubisoft that they should do that with all their titles.. I have such high hopes for the division,  but these dont bode well. Seeing as neither ACU or far cry is a must have for me i guess i can save the money and vote with my wallet instead.  Pick them up dirt cheap down the road or..  Urgh.  Buy them used (havent done that since fallout new vegas) 

The problem is not in whether the game looks good at this moment or not. The problem is they over promise and under deliver. They keep promising stuff they can't actually pull off. Don't promise razor sharp textures if you can't deliver. Show blur when you use blur. Is it so damn hard to just show what you are actually doing? How about you o the following at your job/company: Show a 1 billion turn over and 100 million profit in your annual report. Shortly after you give out the printed version of the report and it turns out to be a 800 million turn over and 100 million loss. Guess who would be slaughtered by investors and shareholders...

If you lie in such an obvious way you should be punished and not commanded for your efforts which turn out to be quite good. Just be honest and you'll reap even more credits.

I don't care what this looks like in comparison. I watched a 1 hour long video the other day and this game looks fantastic.

I bet it's to make the experience more cinematic!

On a more serious note though, it's not a fair comparison. The comparison should be done between promotional material and screenshots from the PC version running on highest possible settings.

Tell you what, some people in here need to take a day off! Its a game! So what if it doesn't look like the bullshots being posted a while back. That happened to pretty much every game last gen on any console by any developer!

Far Cry 4 looks fantastic and I'm pretty sure 99% of gamers won't be playing annoyed that it doesn't look "quite" like still screenshots had made it out to look a few months back.

Honestly, some people need to get a different hobby, the amount of nitpicking recently is horrendous.

I think I speak for many here that it's preferable a developer be honest with their consumers. Personally, dishonesty makes me uncomfortable.

Someone is a little butthurt they can't play Mario Kart...

And yes, MK8's graphics are gorgeous.

And "still look gorgeous" isn't the point here, I don't recall OP stating if the game either looks good or bad. It's just about what Ubisoft promises and what it delivers, 2 completely different things.

Whenever there's a thread like this (Watch Dogs, AC Unity, Far Cry 4, etc) a lot of "damage controllers" always come arguing "I like the game, it's actuallt great fun". Well that's not the point, it's about you being promised one thing and getting something else. But that's all on you (specially the ones damage controlling) cuz you keep buying it and defending it. Yes, you can enjoy the game but you don't have to defend them just because, you owe nothing to them.

Personally Sony and MS are also to blame, actually they're the 1st ones to blames. They marketed their new consoles like something they're not, Ubisoft and other companies can only work with what they have.

This disappointment might also be gamers fault, because sometimes they show footage without stating what console it's running on and people just assume it's PS4/X1, when actually it's on PC. In that case that's on you.

FYI, expect The Division to be awfully downgraded.

It's this kind of attitude that is bad for the consumers, and I mean not just this industry.

I understand that but its not like its a new thing is my point.  You could argue that there are bullshots out there for pretty much every game so far this generation and way more games than not in the previous one.  My point is, its been the practice of developers now for night on 10 years.  I'm not saying its right but thats just the way it is and has been for a very long time.  What I'm saying is, I don't understand why people keep kicking up a stink about it when everyone already knows what to expect.
