but them it wouldn't mislead the audience and the games wouldn't sell. there's no way they'll be honest and show actual footage or say that the misleading videos are misleading.

Lets just hope they don't use those trailers for commercial footage.

They should make that illegal.  It's like seeing a commercial for a funny movie, and you go to the movie and a couple of the funny scenes in the commercials aren't even in the movie.  It's like "WTF"

hopefully, low sales will help our cause.

That's the sad thing though, I bet this still goes on to sell really well.

Yep, and ofcourse they'll use the bullshot trailers for commercials, if not a live action trailer with catchy music. I already know people that will buy it from commercials plus known name, play it for a couple hours and put it away. People that read reviews and actually finish games are the minority.

I really want to believe that gamers will stand up to this shit and show we won't accept such treatment, but who am I kidding, it'll still sell millions, which they'll use to justify pulling the same shit in the future. And so the cycle continues...

I actually laugh with this, sad but true. The same applies to BF, COD, FIFA, etc.... It really should be illegal to release the game like that for every company.

The PC port seems to be even worse. There is people on GAF with overclocked i7 and overclocked 980 gtx having ~40fps in the cutscenes with reduced AA.

Yeah, I knew something was up when I saw the ridiculous requirements for the PC version. Some were going; "no, it's because the game is so damn demanding on hardware due to being so advanced and amazing" when the truth was always that Ubisoft quite don't bother optimizing their games and it is worrying that one of the biggest publishers along EA and Activison are also starting to send out the same signal of not giving a shit about the consumers they live off of. What's even worse is that most consumers are sending signals back to these people that this is okay.

the game is still a big pile of turd. the problem is with the game not with the hardware

Ubisoft should be disgusted with themselves.

They have truly become the next EA.

Microsoft must have paid Ubisoft even better than we imagined. >_>

This is just an incredible mess.

What? MS paid Ubi to release a game which is such a technical mess? You can't be serious. My thought is that MS isn't happy about performance on Xbone.

Sure, it's overall performance is a tad sloppy.

But no matter how poor or great that performance is, it should be running better on the PS4. Same architecture, superior hardware, and even easier development. Given the massive advertising partnership, parity nonsense, special bundle, arrangement to get reviews done on the Xbox One version (a rarity), etc., the only rational explanation left is that MS's financial offering was in part directed at lowering PS4 performance.

Even if a game were developed for Xbox One and then simply ported to PS4 (already a bizarre scenario), it should immediately yield better results on the PS4 due to the hardware bump.

It takes intervention to screw with a game's development this badly. Mind, negative intervention was already made public with the parity business decision a while back. We can associate this performance disparity as an effect of the same intervention.

I'm not disagreeing that the devs who worked on performance aspects are incompetent. I am, however, suggesting that more than incompetence is required for this particular result.
