I think "flopped" is a tad over dramatic.

It's not a particularly good 1st week, but 200k~ WW is respectable enough. With strong legs and lots of holiday marketing it could still end up being a LT success.

It's also worth noting that Insomniac's games have never had particular strong launch weeks. R&C in particular has always legged itself to success.

I don't know...When a game is heavily promoted and bundled, even given away for free, on  a console that is selling well barely outsells a niche game on a less popular console, a game that had very little promotion and wasn't free, a game whose fanbase is on a completely different system...

...and all that in a week with no competition, there is hardly another word to describe it then flop (or failure).

It may be a fun and enjoyable game, but when less than 3% of the install base decides to buy such exclusive game, it flopped...

Im just going to say what i said yesterday in XBE.

Its 5 days of sales for SO in america. 2 day in Europe as it released 31st. The actual first 7 days will likely be above 300k

As it stands it is tracking similar to the first InFamous which sold 260k its first week.  InFamous finished with 2.81m.  This whole its a flop if the first week isnt a million needs to settle down a bit.  Most games dont come out with millions to start with

All games release on same days in those regions. That's why first week sales are comparable across weeks, and that's why "first week" does not actually mean 7 days, but "from release to weekend".

Also, it's not 3 days in NA, but 5 (Tuesday - Saturday), and 2 days in Europe... And I doubt many copies sell on Sunday or Monday, definitely not another 25%...

I edited above.  this whole "its a flop if it doesnt sell millions in the first week" needs to stop.  Most games do not work like that.

I agree with that. But there is a huge difference between games like Lords of the Fallen and Bound by Flame, or Hellblade which expressly stated that they break even at 300K, and games that are made by larger studios, published by mega publishers, and whose promotion budget is higher than complete costs of those 3 games combined.
