48. Final Fantasy VI (SNES)

If you can't remember the SNES generation, you need to get and play this game. This truly is a showcase of the near perfection attained at the end of the 2D era. As far as JRPGs go, it's still one of the best around with a fantastic story and a diverse array of characters.

I've always wanted to beat this game, but it was remade so late onto the GBA, I'd already moved on. Still high on my TDL, I played it for about 4 hours and really loved it.

Hint for #45 - You can play as two characters in this 2D action game: one is an amnesiac ninja and the other is a princess possessed by the spirit of a foul swordsman. The spectacular art style in this game easily makes it one of the most visually appealing games on the Wii/any last generation console.

Muramasa.

Hint for my #45

The last game of a certain survival horror franchise to appear on the PS1.

Resident Evil: Survivor. Not surprising from a guy who likes EA...

#46. Chrono Cross: Typically whenever something in entertainment is explicitly Christian the result is embarrassing, pandering tripe, unless that thing is Stryper. Or Chrono Cross, the greatest Christian video game since Bible Adventures on the NES. And the music is suspiciously good, so we'll just have to assume Styper did that, too.

Hint for #45: A haunting character study about a damaged, drug addicted man. Having finally been abandoned by his family, he finds his days consumed by a lonely battle against his own increasingly kaleidoscopic hallucinations.

Ok... not the last one then. Never even knew there was a Resident Evil: Survivor game

You didn't know about RE: Dead Aim either?

I only know the main ones and the Outbreak games...

Too bad. Fun games, if only the first person perspective for shooting kinda ruined the gameplay.

So #46 was New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Hint for #45 - The middle game in this (eventual) trilogy could leave you suffering from Full Life Consequences

Half Life 2!?

Yes, congratulations Ka-Pi! Clearly I need to make my hints painfully obvious in future

Hint for #46:

Loyal fans have been waiting for the spiritual sequel to this PS2 game for one two three four five years.
