What about now?
#22: Tomb Raider (Crystal Dynamics, 2013) - PS3 (also on PS4, 360, One and PC)
What a fantastic game. Got it on a sale on PSN, a few months after release, and it was worth it every penny. There isn't a single downtime with this game and, yes, it's a lot like Uncharted. It actually felt like "Uncharted 4", which in my book, is a positive not a flaw. The sense of progression here is outstanding as you FEEL like a badass towards the end of the game, using the bow and arrow and killing enemies stealthily is fun... Actually makes me wish there was a New Game+ mode, so I could play through the entire game as a badass motherfucker. And the story is cool, so there's that too.
#21: Portal 2 (Valve, 2011) - PC (also on PS3 and 360)
YES, more of the genius portal mechanic! People were skeptical that something as small as Portal could become a full-fledged retail release, but oh boy were they wrong. It's short, yes, but every minute of it is excellent and every aspect of the game was polished beyond belief, particularly the writing, with GLaDOS being as great as ever, and the introduction of Wheatley and Cave Johnson. That creepy and hostile atmosphere of the end of the first game is here throughout the entire game, which I greatly enjoy. Much like the first game, I can replay this one many, many times.
Sadly, Valve can't count to 3.
Since no one guessed it, the #20 was Gran Turismo 2. This is why the intro song showed it was my favorite game.

Already top 20?!
Here come the heavy hitters
Hint for #20:
This sixth generation game inspired three legends in the industry: Eiji Aonuma, Hideo Kojima, and Jordan Mechner.
Whew, I catched up. Here's a hint for #20:
This franchise was inspired by another franchise which appeared on my list.
#20 Hint: This game has almost a many new ideas as it has levels, not bad for a supposedly rehashed series
Signature goes here!

Several weeks and 242 stars later, I was happy to be proven wrong. Galaxy 2 is nothing short of a masterpiece, a game that, in the words of Edge Magazine "rolls [the genre] up and locks it away." The sheer imagination on display in the game is mind-boggling. It packs more ideas and mechanics into individual levels than some games do in their entirety. Super Mario Galaxy 2 might not be as revolutionary is its predecessor, but it's every bit as beautiful, creative, and fun. |

Now hurry up and play 3D World!

Someone gets it.
