Hint for 37

This game probably took a lot less time to beat during your HD remaster playthrough (the version on my list)

Wind Waker HD?

#37
Tomb Raider II (PS1, 1997)

guessed by KLXVER

In Tomb Raider II, superstar Lara Croft is once again raiding tombs, crypts, caves, and long-forgotten temples. Her latest target is the Dagger of Xian, which is also coveted by a dangerous Italian mobster named Marco Bartoli. Although Tomb Raider II uses the same engine that made the original Tomb Raider such a hit, it improves upon the graphics and play control of its predecessor. The result: large open areas, more polygons, dynamic lighting, and atmospheric effects. Tomb Raider II is more action-oriented than the original, and the first Tomb Raider game to feature vehicles.

Hint for #37.

This game made me forget all about the Call of Duty series.

We're on 37?

This series has pretty much been reduced to collections, spin-offs, and handhelds (so still technically spinoffs).

Jak and Daxter?

Yes.

Don't be sad.  If Sly 4 showed us anything it's that classic 3d platformers can always make a comeback (it was my favorite one)

Didn't post in a while...

That part of the list was JRPG time !

41 Bravely Defaut - Flying Fairy
40 Tales of Phantasia
39 Skies of Arcadia - Legends
38 Suikoden 2
37 The Legend of Zelda - The Wind Waker

Congrats to platformmaster918 as he chose his 37 very well ;)

36 is the second entry of a series found on the genesis...That should be enough of a hint from me ...

Shining Force II?

#36 #47 - I really really enjoyed the game for a while. Then it started to get boring with all the repetition. I love Borderlands, and this reminded me of it, but with no humor and no memorable characters. Filled the need at the time, but I doubt I'll be going back for more, definitely not getting any DLCs.

When I looked at my list and saw this at #36, I was shocked to see what I was thinking. definitely cannot be ahead of Metro, SpecOps or Dead Space, so it tumbles all the way down to #47, behind Enslaved but ahead of red faction Guerilla.

So #36 is Phantom Hourglass; which I'm a little surprised noone got. PH is an excellent game with some great ideas; unfortunately marred by having to redo the same dungeon over and over, which is fun for noone. Still; it's Zelda and whilst it's not the best it's certainly a great game in it's own right.

In #35, you'll find a kid with a bat, a girl with a gun and a man with a rocket launcher. You might even put a bike in there, too.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
