At this point, there's only one question left to answer: is PES 2015 a better game than FIFA 15? In terms of replicating the balance of real football, the answer is an emphatic yes.

At the very least, it seems a return to form for PES, Konami finally stepped it up. I played both demos and I have to say I was quite impressed by the leap forward. They're no threat to FIFA at the moment, but I hope this trend continues and we see a more even playing field.

Yeah, the licenses are a big problem for PES. Many people simply refuse to play a game where their team is called "South London" or something. PES has had the license for the Spanish league for a long time and it sells fairly well in Spain, only surpassed by FIFA two or three years ago. In the UK where they had no license, PES sales are a joke compared to FIFA. They need to get their shit together and get all major European leagues.

That said, when PES had indisputably the best gameplay, it sold well even in placed like the UK with the shitty names and all, so it's a start.

Yeah, it's super-easy for PC gamers to get a mod with all the proper names. But we know that when it comes to football games 90+% of sales come from consoles, so I just hope Konami takes this seriously and we see proper competition between EA and Konami.

Yeah, even when FIFA was fucking shit and PES was great, sales were about even. For example, 4.4m for PES 2007 vs. 4.1m for FIFA 2007, on PS2. PES had the edge, but barely. However, that situation is still better than he massacre we have now.

EA can just bully its way to the top because they have the means. But if PES surpassed FIFA in gameplay again, it will help its sales immensely.

PES will never be able to afford to outbid EA. Fifa just sells too much. First they need to close the sales gap and then worry about licenses which will be more affordable to them.

I bought Fifa 09 and loved it. I got Fifa 10 as a present. My next was Fifa 15 this year but was disgusted at the launch issues. A billion dollar yearly update should launch with no hiccups let alone a few major ones.

Now that it works Fifa 15 is a good game and will keep me happy until Fifa 19/20. But I would love nothing more than for Pes to kick it's ass for the next few years so we see EA being forced to step it up big time.

EDIT: On the review front it's now at 84 vs 82. Pes has 11 positive reviews and Fifa has 38 positive and 6 mixed. Come on Pes you can hold onto this lead! 

Another interesting quote from Eurogamer's review: "PES 2015 is more satisfying in defeat than FIFA 15 is in victory."

I just hope that PES 2015's online play holds up well.

Even thou I seldom playing sports games, my friend who are not dedicated gamer choose PES over FIFA.

Well in my country PlayStation brand is more popular and Wining Eleven is part of PlayStation 1 history, so PES is definitely the choice of most causal gamers until now.

Two points... that's a huuuuge difference.

And, by other side, PES still doesn't have official licenses, so obviously it will continue to be inferior to me.
