Forums - Nintendo - Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric has its fair share of bugs

What I want to know is how two games published under the same label (Sonic Boom) at the same time can have such incredibly different levels of quality? I've heard a good bit positive about Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal, what the heck happened to Sonic Boom: Rise of the Lyric? I mean, I wouldn't say it looks terrible; I've played terrible games and so far this doesn't reach those lows. But It looks mediocre in many ways and unoptimized and just lazy in so many aspects.

As I've said, I suspect this game simply ran out of time/money and we got the unpolished draft.

Quite possible. Or the studio didn't have a solid enough vision early enough. They are young as a studio and haven't worked on Sonic before iirc.

The mechanics seem solid enough, its just the graphics, framerate, and glitches that stick out, all of which are often smoothed out late in development.

Maybe a patch can alleviate the problems.

Hopefully.  It looks like a decent game if you ironed out the wrinkles.

I bet this wasn't a sonic game, I mean it had like 3 years in development? And sonic lost world looks a lot better, I had great hopes with the first trailer, now is just meh.

Now that I've seen some uncut footage, I'd probably buy it if the framerate was patched.

.

And now to cleanse the soul of this...Sonic, I'll take you all back to when that word and epic were synonymous.

Just bought Sonic Lost World on the launch day of Sonic Boom .......... lol

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.

What I don't understand is that Sega has been making Sonic games for over 20 years now and have the money and the clout to attract some of the best talent in the industry. So why do Sonic fans still get these unpolished messes delivered all the time? And every once in a while, Sega releases one that's actually pretty good (Adventure, Colors) just to tease everyone.

Could be jumping the gun, but no reviews released on day of release is never a good sign.
