Forums - Nintendo - Are amiibos Nintendo's next great blunder?

Well... Their worth depends on how much Nintendo integrates them with their games. Like, if you have one now, you can get customs for mk8, weapons for hyrule warriors, npcs for SSB and who knows what else in the future. So, as of right now, they might not be worth it but say if they integrate amiibo with all their future games (which they kinda are) and if you buy an amiibo now, it will give u stuff for the next 5-10 years on various titles, I think it might sell alot.

They will sell a lot, but they won't be a huge system seller for them.
It also really depends what they do with them. Right now the only feature that interests me is the Smash CPU.

If you're interested in Nintendo content and understand german, maybe you want to take a look at my youtube channel! :)

So basically, it does what dlc does?

That's all the skylanders are too, the skylanders game is basically a dungeon crawler with 32 potential classes to play who are all dlc. They just have the added bonus of sitting on a shelf looking all pretty when the game is complete.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Nope. Figurines now look cheap and don't have a real interesting functionality.

Sorta, DLC is on a per game baises vs amiibo is on a various game baises so that is one neat thing cause its like $12 has the ability to get you to go a longgggg way

Thier use depends which one you get.
E.g, Link is used to train in Smash, give Link a new Weapon in HW, provide MK8 outfit and probably much more down the line.

While Palutena, would probably only be used in Smash, or at least for a very long time that way.

I want 3.

I think they will profit from it and bounce back a little, but it won't save the Wii U

I know i am going to buy 4 of them, but if they keep supporting like this i would buy even more.
It gives the impression of infinite dlcs. Link gives you a weapon, MK8 outfit, Ace Combat plane customized and a bot for smash.

It is a great thing that they made all amiibos give some bonus on Hyrule Warriors. It means that they can works even when the character is not related to the game

Can't we wait to try the first bite before we send the food back to the kitchen?

Nintendo needs to make a game that solely uses Amiibo. Integration is cool but why should I buy one though? They're basically DLC toys right now. I need a reason to buy them. I kinda wish Nintendo would have bought in on Skylanders before it took the world by storm.
