Forums - Microsoft - Halo 5 leaked footage (Multiplayer)

Whether or not it functions the same as the original scopes is irrelevant. From a symbolic standpoint this is a kick to the face to Halo fans. Halo 4 had/has a disastrous number of online multiplayer users (far lower than Halo 3 and Reach) for several reasons; requiring DLC early on for popular playlists (a decision which would later be reverted when it was too late), weapons not spawning on the map, different scoring systems, severely limited options for the Flood/infection gametype even in custom games, Boltshot being overpowered, Battle Rifle not being able to four-shot (also reverted when it was too late), etc..., and I don't see why this wouldn't be added to the list.

Hopefully the beta impressions will make them change their mind.

It took 6 seconds for me to lose hope for Halo 5. Impressive, 343

You spoke too soon. This is why people shouldn't jump to conclusions

It's fun to complain, though..

In all seriousness nothing in that video was "going back to the roots" like 343 said they'd do. I wasn't a fan of sprint in Halo 4 and I feel like ADS don't belong in Halo.

But again, it was only 6 seconds long so I guess I shouldn't judge too hard. it's probably best to see some real footage. you would think 343 would have learned from halo 4..

I think when they say back to the roots they mean arena play where everyone is on the same playing field. No bs can be called.

But out of all this crazy news we got word that descope is back!!

343- Ruining Halo one step at a time

Agreed. Once Bungie left, the series died (the ghost town that was Halo 4's MP a few months after release backs me up on this too). I enoyed the original trilogy as it happned but the story is done, the end happened.

I understand why MS keeps the carcass around (they need the money) but that doesn't change the fact that the ship has sailed.

What do you expect? If you take a baby (Halo) out of the home he/she grew up in (Bungie) and switch parents (343), shit's going to change and that baby is going to grow up and take on a completely different personality.

Bungie WAS Halo and Halo, Bungie. What we have now is a different game with the Halo universe as it's backdrop.

To be fair Bungie started the downward spiral of Halo with Reach.

Reach was good!

You like Locke > Chief, your opinion is invalid

It was ok, I didn't like the implementation of AA which has been the series downfall for a while, 343 should just get rid of them and stop trying to appeal to the CoD crowd. We all see the mess that Destiny is (PvP) Halo is headed for the same direction. That's just my opinion though.

Just wait... when Locke is shown to be the most awesomest Halo character ever I'll be laughing and saying 'told you so'

I can admit he has great facial expressions lol shows hes more of a big screen actor than a voice actor though. Keith David shits on him though in that Arbiter scene.

I expect them to learn from their mistakes. Otherwise the online multiplayer crowd will continue to decline.

Thankfully, the Master Chief Collection is receiving wide praise. So even if people don't pay much attention to Halo 5, they'll always have that title to fall back on.

I love the way 343 has taken the sp aspect, Halo 4 is the best game in the series in that regard. Mp is another story though, in my view Halo 3 is the best in the series. Never liked descoping though, makes the gaming stagger somewhat.
