I remember waiting every week for a new episode when Shippuden just started. Then it turned to one giant shitfest riddled with fillers after the Pain arc.

Let's not pretend like the anime wasn't already a giant shitfest before Shippuden started. I mean, if you were watching every week before then, you sat through two straight years of filler. TWO STRAIGHT YEARS of complete garbage.
