Helix is okay. Nothing great but not bad either. The twist at the end of the first season was weird and kinda silly.

The initial marketing for the show called it an "event" indicative of a single season encapsulated story. It got popular (for what it is) so naturally they are going to throw in a random twist, add a few seasons, and milk that cow to death.
Wait Ridley Scott is making a Halo TV show?
Nintendo, why aren't you letting this man direct some Metroid show/movies for goodness sake!

Because of the stuff in the OP.

But Metroid is highly insired by the orignal Aliens! Hell, the enemy in Metroid is called RIDLEY! And the Metroids are basically the aliens as well. And the protagonist is a female.
Get somone with H. R Giger's skill (RIP) to design the enemies and Mother Brain's lair and Ridley can produce Metroid in his sleep.
Here's a list of similarities between Metroid and Aliens:

It even explains why Samus reveals more skin if you finish the game quicker.
Oh my God. The reviewers talk about it like it's absolute garbage.
I guess it shouldn't be surprising, considering what most series have become lately...

Sometimes it's tough to offer an objective view on things here, some people just get too attached. |
This happens on all forums on all sorts of topics people are emotionally attached and can no longer approach a topic with an open mind. My coworker who got into car detailing literally had a guy online cussing him out because he suggested using a different kind of rag for your car and the guy disagreed and said his rag was the best (my coworker said it was a good rag but not nearly the best and this was agreed upon by all the top experts). It just made me think of things like this.
I visit an MMA forum and it's the same way people swear up and down their is no way their guy can lose and when he does you don't ever see them post in that topic again. Every now and then you'll see the guy come back and say "I was completely wrong".
On topic it's sad to see it didn't turn out well. Really could use a good scifi show.
Wow, this seems pretty bad. I had some doubts on mini-series since it was announced last year. I never have faith on shows and movies based on videogames. For me, they never work.

Nothing has to be dumbed down for Americans. It's when you think you have to that you are already setting yourself up for failure. Everyone in Japan thought Demon's Souls would be "Too hard" for Americans too, and yet now it is its biggest market.
