May have been a BF only bundle so now may be gone for good.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

So let me get a quick summary. Ass Creed bundle winning - Amazon predictive powers are real. GTA bundle winning - Bricks and Mortar are all that count, plus that one guy on Neogaf who said XB1 selling 5 - 1. Wait XB1 winning the monthly - Amazon is king baby!
Overall it looks like XB1 will take the month by around 100k no doubt, but it looks like the story would have been different if the GTA bundle would have launched with the game last week. Looking at all the stores pushing Destiny bundle, Sony should have priced this at $399 when Microsoft lowered the price, and the month would have been a Sony win. That it was close after no Sony price cuts, shows that Viral generated thirst can work wonders.

Yes, the same Amazon that predicted every monthly win for the PS4 correctly. But I guess now that the X1 is on top it suddenly isn't credible anymore. BTW, this is what Amazon said in the only month X1 won. http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/2013-12/videogames/?tag=viglink20241-20#1 |
Listen, I usually go with Amazon, too. However, this is Nov, Black Friday month. Everything pretty much goes out the window if we are just going to use one source. Now, I'm not saying it's 100% that they are going to be wrong, but this month there is a greater chance of it. Especially when other retailers, larger ones, are going against their rankings, which didn't really happen the other months we looked at Amazon.
I mean, when you have the PS4 outselling the XBO ALL MONTH on the largest gaming retailers' sites, Wal-mart and Gamestop (sometimes 2:1, sometimes maybe more), then you start to question how accurate Amazon is going to be this month. We also have confirmation from Wal-mart that they made sure to get 3x as many PS4s as they normally do. I'm sure other retailers did similar numbers, as well. Also, even though I'm sure the XBO was tearing it up at Target retail stores, the PS4 GTAV was tearing it up on their online store (if I remember correctly it reached #6 in the Top 100 for ALL electronics, before selling out), while the XBO was nowhere in their Top 100.

I also think to add to your points, that Amazon favours Xbox slightly. In months where the PS4 confortably outsold the Xbox it didn't exactly show that in NPD. The gap was bigger than AMazon led us to believe. When is NPD out anyway? Is it the 12th?

Amazon November 2013: |
Sometimes Amazon changes its products(serial number?) and as such things will disappear from the charts because they are not available anymore. The PS4 was in this chart last november and comfortably ahead of X1.

The quote you refer to for Walmart also suggested that they had tripled the amount of every other console.
And still I don't see why the trend in this particular month should be wrong. It's not like they changed their method or people stopped shopping for PS4s on Amazon. According to them PS4 might as well won BF but also according to them it wasn't enough to win all of November which is pretty much in line with everything else including VGC numbers for the past 3 weeks.
