Yes, they always make a profit for Q3 (which is the holiday months) even in the last few years where they have lost money overall, they made profit in Q3.

Since they are profitable so far for the fiscal year (Q1 + Q2 combined net profit is in the black), basically the only thing that could cause them to lose money would be a disasterous Q4 (Jan-Mar) but that's fairly unlikely. Q4 would have to somehow erase all the profit from Q2 + Q3 (holiday months) combined and that's not going to happen.

I think they will post an OK net profit of $300-$450 million for the fiscal year. Maybe not up to their usual standard (which is about $900-$1 billion in a standard year), but plenty to finance a lot more Marios/Zeldas/Bayonettas (lets hope) or to just throw into the big fat money pile they have already.

Yeah, pretty sure they'll make a decent profit. Q3 should be good for them, and I'm guessing Q4 will see the release of the New 3DS in US/EU markets, so they should make a rather handy profit there too.

The main downside I think that Nintendo will not be happy about this fiscal year is 3DS shipments will probably miss their 12 million target by a fair amount and as a result their overall sales number may also be the lowest its been in some years.

I think Wii U will slightly beat its modest estimate and amiibo will be decently profitable for them (I should hope anyway at $14 a pop the profit margin on them should be sky high).
