Oh wow, I guess they did say that but no one seriously believed it would beyond those engaging in wishful thinking.

Sure they do, it was a big question surrounding the game early on. Also we all know every game without online multiplayer flops these days =P

online mp thats a thing of the past and its more a shooter thing.
what gamers want is a big world with lots to do and an epic memorable story.

Yeah apparently this is all we care about. The term open world is a massive fucking buzz word these days, open world this, open world that. If your not open world dont even think of being a $60 retail game*
*Does not include shitty fps or annual sports rehashes
Seriously though, Batman, Witcher, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy etc. etc. they're everywhere O_O

I didnt say "open world" what I meant was a big world to explore things to do.. it doesnt really have to be GIGANTIC.
example SMB3D World is quit big for a mario game but its also short like most games but you have lots of gameplay hours after you finish the main quest..replayability is king.

Or there are a bunch of different types of gamers who want different things, and thankfully there are a bunch of different games to fill every need.
