Agreed. The high quality is obvious in both titles, I never understood the need for having unfruitful attempts to downplay games that have much in common.

As for me, Xenoblade might be the game that finally push me to get a WiiU.

Money well spent imo, i see this game taking 250+ hours of any massive jrpg fan life. Maybe more. Have you played XC for Wii? That alone should give anybody what the scale is of this game :)

I hope you're right, I'm bracing myself for another barren Q1-Q2.

Too many titles not accounted for in Q1 are slotted as "Spring" which is Q1/Q2.

It's very much looking like 1 game/month except the dead months where Nintendo never releases: Jan, June.

We'll see. If they were coming in Q1-2, wouldn't they have given them at least a brief mention?

Unfortunately no. Never owned a Wii. Fingers crossed that they would do like Bayonetta 2 and bundle the first game with it.

hmm... guess I'd better withdraw for now

To be fair I don't think anyone thought Xenoblade X was going to be out this year. If you did then I have a bridge to sell you or something.

Mario Maker is not a big title, Yoshi is a bit of a mystery but I'd expect it first half of 2015 but it may not be done yet with a concrete release date. And the direct was already packed with information about other things (arguably bigger) like the indie support, the 3DS info, Xenoblade and Splatoon windows (and release for Japan). Kirby was mention as its coming out in the very immediate future and there were new details on it.

They may have empty months but there's no way this season will look anything like 2014. For one, you don't have all of a single game coming off the holiday (3DWorld) and one game in Feb (DKTF) and then vapid nothing till MK8. (We also know there's a remake somewhere that they are keeping a lid on...)

The NA/EU Xenoblade delay is a real thing, too, not artificial as that's the reality of a localization on the scale of what Monolith crams into their games, and Nintendo hasn't adopted or have the manpower to do simultaneous localization/development. And there are other positives to take away with regards to the 3DS having its first-party line up solidified for the first half of 2015, a pop-up of much needed AA RPG games that have an audience but haven't really had games.

Not only is that one of the rarest things i seen in gaming in general (free game with a brand new one), but there is also the port of it coming out for N3ds exclusive, no way they would kill off sales for that :-/

Definitely give it a try if your getting a n3ds. Some good rpgs on the system.

So Nintendo is repeating their mistakes they made in 2014 with Wii U game lineup in 2015,only having one title for Spring 2015

I thought they said no more droughts like last time lol

They say that every year, and it's always a lie. They just don't learn.

Yeah its pretty sad, they have 12 games in development currently(confirmed) and they cant get stuff like Splatoon and Yoshi's Wooly World out in early/first half of 2015? thats just...sad

then Xenoblade Chronicles X went from being a 2014 title, to now its  not even a solid  2015 title and just be ''targeted'' thats just... damn

Nintendo is going to have like 1 game in 6 months again like this year o.O

Yeah, Nintendo's inability to deliver games in a timely fashion this gen is continuing to hamstring any opportunity they have to gather momentum.

There's no good reason for games like Yoshi and Mario Maker not to be out in Q1. We saw gameplay footage of Yoshi in January of 2013 for Pete's sake, and any decent studio could have cobbled Mario Maker together in a few months.

Yup I have to agree sadly ;/

It's very much looked like that every year. =/

Let's hope not.
What worries me is that we went through this whole "there won't be droughts next year" thing in 2013...
