Who cares? I repeat, this over analysis of technical aspects has the potential to be more harmful than good.

What's more its so effin dull.

I'm consistent.

Funny how opinions flip back and forth with "I see a difference" to "I can't feel a framedrop to 50" and so on, fitting to situations where the favorite system could "win", whatever that means in this context. In the end, all of this is totally subjective, although resolution and fps is objectively measurable.

I'm pretty sure I always said that I don't care too much about all that stuff. I maybe made a bad joke or something, I don't know. But seriously, as long as the game is fun, I really don't mind some minor graphical disadvantages. I mean, I played PS3 all last gen, I know what I'm talking about. However, nobody believes me, because I'm playing on PS4 so I have to be a FANBOYZZ! Right?

Yeah, I know you weren't talking about me, but I just drank my third Wodka Red Bull and it's only 14:40 around here. I'm really really bored! You get the whole idea. :P

Just the Campaign right?
Hm these are like 2-3 hours usually in Call of Duty.

As of now we know this

XBO:

-constant 60 fps
-variable resolution
-black crush
-screen tearing

PS4:

-full 1080p
-no screen tearing
-no crushed blacks
-fairly constant 60 fps (locked in MP)

Seems to me the PS4 Version is still superior especially cause of the locked 60fps in Multiplayer by 1080p native.

theres no  crush blacks as xo version. and screen tearing is rare according df. i have yet to see any screen tearing

There is crushed blacks there. How can you not see it is beyond me.

show me a pic of a crush black in COD. I just don't see it. i don't spend my time to look for visual blemishes. for me its not obvious

You will just say you don't see them anyways.  They are there whether you want to or not.  It is a common issue with x1 games.  It's a hot topic on nroff.

nope   i would never do that. that will be a stupid thing to do and have no loyalty to any console. i pla yjust games. . i genuinely haven't seen it, but if you can pics for it , please do post, i would liek to see how it looks like :).

"Right now, the majority of our testing has concentrated on the campaign mode, where Sledgehammer Games really pushes the boat out visually. However, we briefly dipped into the multiplayer mode on both systems in order to gain some first impressions on resolution and frame-rate. We'll need to test this much more thoroughly across a range of maps, but initial results suggest that the dynamic resolution switch is disabled on Xbox One, leading to a static 1360x1080 presentation throughout. Meanwhile, PS4 locks to native 1080p. This is significant, bearing in mind that multiplayer is the key focus for many COD fans, but the good news is that overall gameplay frame-rates seem just as solid as our recent testing on the Gamescom and EGX builds - a state of affairs that extends to both systems."

The thing about crushed black is that you don't need to look for them, they are there. You can check out the video or the GAF thread has plenty of pictures. I can post one later if you want.

Its well documented why they chose the engine and resolution they did. Anyway this isn't a Titanfall thread. If you guys wanna talk Titanfall with me then do it in a TF thread please.

It is because you are showing double standards... Titanfall framerate was worst than PS4 AW... so they could choose 720p to have a solid 60fps... if you compain about the PS4 AW then you need to complain about Titanfall because it is a worste case.

I hope you have someone standing under you with a net in case you fall while making that gargantuan reach. If you can show me a version of the game Respawn released that has a lower resolution than 792p and has a solid 60fps frame rate then I will concede you were right for once. Otherwise, please drop it. What you're doing with this 720p comment is reductio ad absurdum nonsense and it won't be taken seriously. My position is very simple, no reason for you to be confused here.

Dude, just stop. They could have made Titanfall 720p or lower to have a more solid FPS, but they didn't. You're just biased for Titanfall and biased against CoD. If there's one thing that annoys me, it's hypocrisy.

Each console version has its own advantages and disadvantages. Resolution is better on ps4, and frame rated is better on xbox.

Wouldn't the PS4 be the one with screen tearing if it has vsync on but still drops below 60fps?

Xbone version have tearing the article says...

I get annoyed by tear, but this is so minor its a non-issue.

But the occasional FPS drop is also minor..

I will get the Xbox One version as a solid FPS is vital in a game this, it's a sad day when they have obviously given the PS4 1080P priority over it's FPS, I blame the internet fanboy's who make out resolution is suddenly all that counts.
And now they get 1080p at the cost of the gameplay.
