Hmm, my wife & kids watch TV a lot so it seems keeping the XB1 on to watch TV will cost me $100 a year. I think I'll stop using the pass-through, since I'd rather just get 2 more games or something.

You can split the HDMI from the cable box to the TV and Xbone. So if you can watch TV on a different HDMI input on your TV and also watch TV while you use Xbone.

Except I don't use mine like that. I use mine to split the signal from my Xbone to 2-8 TVs in the house, with the 8 way splitter model.
