@OP: yes, XBOne can win some months globally in the USA, but Sony not cutting PS4 price now doesn't mean it won't cut it later. It's just that a winner doesn't cut price after less than one year from launch, unless it's really forced to do it (see 3DS, for example, with hindsight we know it could have beaten PSV by a whisker anyway, but before the first, early price cut its sales were horrible and Ninty couldn't accept the deadly risk of being beaten by Sony on portables a few months later), but right now PS4 is selling very well anyway, both in USA and WW, and it still has to launch in China, having to further boost production for an even higher holidays sales spike thanks to such early cut while at the same time starting stockpiling and probably already boosting too a little for Chinese launch could backfire and cause troubles later with overproduction if Chinese sales don't stabilise at a level high enough.
Sure, not cutting probably means that, like Wii before, PS4 won't reach 50% LTD WW market share as it previously looked possible, but with Sony not committing with PS4 Ninty's mistake of abandoning Wii too early, this shouldn't be a serious problem, better profiting than bragging.

For wrongful generalization. It's wrong, but it happens anyway, just like it happens to Sony, Ninty and PC gamers too.
