Forums - Sales Discussion - The upcoming X1 price cut will make it match the PS4 sales in the US

Also he conveniently forgot FM haven't got even close to passing 10M which GT have done for all but GT6...

Not even Halo have outsold GT4 sales.

And he don't even look at the sales of the games he downplay... TLOU is passing 10M soon as well, LBP is close to 5M, UC passing 7M. Plenty of great sales and varied games.

Fact: The top selling Xbox360 games outsell the PS3 games

Fact: X1 many times sold more Software than PS4, even if it has less hw sales in the US, most notably Call of duty.

Wow you say that X1 sold more software "many times" and then state pretty much the only game that the xbox one version sold more units than the ps4 version in the USA. Want to know the multi-plats that sold more on ps4 than xbox one globally in the usa?

Fact: Not all 360 exclusives sell more than PS3 exclusives.

Fact: The PS4 has actually sold more hardware in the US. Call of Duty: AW is an exception for obvious reasons, but it is not the only game that is out in the US, is it? It's an even worse story worldwide.

-two cents right here-

This holiday season in the US X1>Ps4 HOWEVER from next year? LOLOL unless MS says that price cut is permanent then its baseline will drop fast... maybe even below Wii U for january.

So that must mean everyone buy X360 for the same game then??? Attach ratio of this game is 12% so one game doesn't mean all... besides, even with 1 year head start SW gap is still diminishing. And for some years PS3 have outsold the year SW of X360, but you conveniently forgets all data that contradicts your wishes.

and games that people actually enjoy playing and sell systems like Halo and Call of duty

If it does happen, and you are kind of jumping the gun a bit considering, then okay. I don't think Sony is toooo worried, as they were probably expecting to have the same super uphill battle the PS3 did last generation. Being able to maintain parity, or even slightly below the Xbox numbers in the U.S., probably still counts as a win for them, given all the other markets are pretty much in the bag. Still, it will be interesting to see how they respond, it's possible they will want to try and maintain the US leadership, in which case we might see some more aggressive deals and marketing pop up next year.

And seriously Drill, be a little more conscientious on your math. =P Doesn't help your case when you are willfully comparing the rounded-up-to-10 million shipped Xbox One units to the PS4's sold-to-customers number, and decide to round downthe gap from 2.6 to 2. -_-

Some GAFers are running around claiming that U.S. sales ofless than one million apiece in November would be a "undeniable disaster" and indicative of an early grave for either. I simply do not understand this logic. Putting aside the fact that the 360 didn't break a million in the NPD until November 2010, both combined have sold 70% more than PS3/360 in their first year. Makes me wonder if these people remember the first few NPDs of gen 7. For context:

Nov 2006 360 511K / PS3 196K
Nov 2007 360 770K / PS3 466K
Nov 2008 360 836K / PS3 378K
Nov 2009 360 819K / PS3 710K

I'm personally betting either has a good shot at breaking a million this Nov. But it'll be far, far from a disaster if they don't. Hell, compare the year one sales of both PS4/X1 to those of PS360....its incredible. Honestly I find the continued doom and gloom in the face of amazing year one sales to be exhausting. Thoughts?
