Equal rights means equal, not destroying everything the other side enjoys.  Gaze theory has evolved since 1975.  If anything, everyone should be egalitarian.  There are very likely feminists in the Anti side who desire that approach.  But the loudest, are undoubtedly attempting to go far beyond equal rights, every bit as much, as the misogynists they villify.

Beside the obvious, and that is trying to expose corruption in gaming media, I see most benefit from things like managing to convince Intel to pull their ads from Gamasutra and similar actions.

These sites that are so easily offending large part of their readership and people who they are supposedly writing for will eventually learn the simple truth - you don't fuck and insult consumers to push your personal agendas.

In its essence Gamergate is consumer movement, for anyone who does not understand this I suggest watching one of Totalbiscuit's interviews.

Another good thing that came out of it is #notyourshield, that has shown how many people that are not "white male misogynist nerds", as anti-GG movement and their media lapdogs like to characterize GG, will stand up against bullshit.

Two wrongs don't make a right... You don't make the world a better place by drawing war lines. Peace isn't made by making bigger bombs (okay, maybe Mutually Assured Destruction is a thing, but that doesn't make it an ideal). Modern feminism, as it is most often propagated, is bullshit...

So why be a feminist when you can be an egalitarian? Why not try to make the world better for everyone? Feminists often operate by making human issues into women's issues: harrassment? women's issue. bullying? women's issue. idealization by the media? women's issue. These are all just issues, no need to throw men by the wayside to make the world a better place. 

PS: GamerGate is in no way anti women or any other group of people. There is a huge difference between being anti-SJW/Feminism and being anti-woman. #NotYourShield is a pretty good example of the inclusivity of GamerGate...

#______Gate things are always stupid in the first place. I'm glad I gathered some information about this GamerGate thing in this thread, but truthfully, I knew it would be sad people quibbling away about sad/stupid things.

Even at that, the tribal "enemy of my enemy is my friend" mentality doesn't work very well in practice.

Who said I wasn't egalitarian? Feminism doesn't cancel out egalitarianism.

Gamergate has nothing to do with stomping console wars. It has everything to do with corruption in journalism and its lost its way so badly that Anita Sarkeesian is making an even greater name for herself because of the extremists.
