Well, the visuals are terrible, but that's pretty much expected from CoD.
Battlefield 4 looks more impressive than this game, despite being a launch title.

It also has a lower resolution and more frame dip issues.
CoD put a focus on frame rate and resolultion. So graphics suffer.

I'm looking at the PC version. It has some interesting lightining and other things, but the texture work is pretty terrible and impacts the visual presentation. Not terrible, but it's not good enough to be average. Its biggest enemy is the inconsistent presentation. Some things look from good to great but others look from bad to terrible.
The new gen does look nicer, but it definitely wouldn't be enough to make me buy a new console for if I was getting it on old gen.
