We're talking game division. Obviously MS will post the most profit. They are the only ones that are actually a functional company with lots of other successful products. |
Take away a 3 decade monopoly from MS and they are one of the most irrelevant companies in technology....Nothing in the consumer space has been much of any success. please. MS has been living off that windows monopoly forever,
| theprof00 said: Teeqoz you said it would hit 10m easily. Small44, you implicitly agreed with him by countering me on his post. Yet both of you only think it will do 5m by jan 1 2016? Ok, how about this. 1.7m first month Jan 1 2016 3.2m 2m more sold in 2016 for a total of 5.2m Would you take that bet? Both of you said way higher than 5m, but you're holding me to 5m? That's really cowardly to not defend your analysis like that. |
I reply because you said it will sell 5 millions max while it possible i don't say it sure that uc4 will sell 10 millions,Uncharted is a leggy games
First week :1.7m
First month:2.5m
2015 total :3.5m
2016:5.5m
2017:6.5m
2018:7.5m
lifetime sale:8m
First month:2.5m
PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m
Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

no, I'm saying that the lifetime sales will be way more than 5 million, and I assume you're talking lifetime as well. I don't think it'll pass 5 million before the end of 2015!
If you use attach rate from a system late in it's lifetime then the numbers will obviously be skewed. In that case, SSBU will only have a 1 to 9 attachrate, and will only sell ~2 million lifetime. We both know it will be waaay higher, which just proves that you can't use past attachrate to predict future sales. In that case Halo 3/4 would have a 1 to 2 attach-rate on the 360 and they'd sell 40 million each. Did that happen? |
I'ts like when people say 80 million consoles , as if they are all in the hands of gamers who buy games on a regular basis , yes the sales number is large but the actual numbers in regular use drop off over time , add that to the fact that regular users/buyers tend to make up a higher % of early adopters. and it leaves you with a much lower consumer base than appears at face value.
Research shows Video games help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

ok how about this. Whoever is closest on their first week, month, 2015, and 2016?
8m is really way too high. 6~ absolute max. With the number of games coming out it's going to be hard to push those sales. Same thing happened with ps2. There's a lot of competition for those sales.

I don't think 8 millions is too high Uncharted serie is getting more popular

Stop saying "I don't think" either accept the bet or not.

Nintendo's whole business mantra is about keeping high profit margins. Sony won't be able to match that even with their sales. Sony's profit margins are just too low and it takes too much to generate a profit. While it indeed does this, it makes it hard to keep sustained growth. The smallest downturn and just like that you lose all your profits. Sony has this problem on a fundamental level and they won't be truly profitable until they fix this.
