i honestly think the ssb u sales wouldn't reflect a lot on vgchartz, because i think a lot of people will buy digital because of the new pre-download policy.

This just shows how having Smash on both platforms is a great buissness choice.

Hopefully Smash U + the others will push Wii U an extra 2.5M HW sold by the end of the year, to reach the desired 10M.

Apparently people are "Tripping" about this game. According to someone in my class.

He asked me "Isn't there a new Smash Bros coming out?"

Then I said, "Yeah, like next month"

"Then why is everyone tripping about it if it doesn't come out for another month?"

So Nintendo is hoping people buy SSB (3DS) and then notice the difference to WiiU version and want it as well.
Like having a huge Demo with 3DS Version and the full game with WiiU Version. I dont want to downplay the 3DS version, that just was an example.
Maybe Nintendo can make a deal. "Buy SSB (WiiU) with the same NIN-ID as SSB (3DS) and receive 20€ discount" or something like that - i guess that would also boost digital SSB (WiiU) sales.
If SSB (3DS) costs 40€ and SSB (WiiU) 50€ then receiving both for 70€ would be quite something.

I originally thought WiiU sales will really suffer from the 3DS Version, but in the meantime i think it will maybe even boost it.

I was kinda worried about the Wii U version but damn they gave us a lot of reasons to get it over the 3DS version. The 50 fact Extravaganza had me throwing my money at gamestop, maybe I should've went inside and actually preordered?

I wasn't too excited for SSBU, I figured it would be rushed and probably lacking. Not that it wouldn't still be fun, just that it wouldn't be amazing....

The direct slapped me in the face and threw it to the top of my gaming list for this year. It was a very well executed move.

The deal they decided to go with is buy both games and get the soundtrack.

I hope Smash will do smashing numbers for the Wii U. I swear, Nintendo needs to market the hell out of MK8 and this game this holiday.
