Forums - Sales - WiiU Overtracked, 300k+, Xbox One-Wii U gap down to 550k?

Look only Sony hardware is undertracked here.

no

sony hardware shipped from oct 2013 - end of june 2014: 15m
sony hardware sold through according to vgc: 13.6m

so only 1.4 ps4 + ps3 on shelfs

according to vgc, xb1 alone has 1.5m on shelves.
so either ps numbers are not overtacked and xb is undertracked, or ps number are overtracked and xb1 is not undertracked.
but ps undertracked, while xb1 overtracked is NOT possible

Having WiiU at 7M and X1 6M roughly at September ends puts Ps4 1M away from hitting 50% at the end of this month I think we may see it be bellow 500k. Everything goes right Ps4 shall make 50% around the time X1 pass WiiU.

So we should reduce the WiiU after this shipment number but not increase the One after MS shipmnt numbers?  Please dont say bu but they didnt tell us.  Common sense tells us.

Sell through, the ONE is 6.5m minimum, the WiiU is 7m maximum.

As reported on the financials is expected to have 300k WiiU on shelves and 1.3M for X1 isn't unexpected. X1was way bellow 6M on September end so I don't know from where you take that I didn't pushed up X1 sales.

Every news article I read says the Wii U sold 7.29M not shipped 7.29M, so why is everyone saying the Wii U is overtracked by 300k+? If Vgchartz is to be believed then the Wii U is only about 50-60k overtracked.

I know, I'm confused too. Even on their own website it shows it sold 7.29 M, not shipped.

Glad I am not the only one confused here...

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

I knew those sales in the summer were way too good to be true. X1 might have actually been second place all along for most weeks in the summer.

sold in to retailers = shipped

sold trough to customers = sold

if nintendo shipped to retailers, they sold the units (to retailers)
thats a sell for them

However Nintendo normally will specify when they are talking shipped and sold, they  have done it in the past so all of a sudden they aren't now? Wii U has sold 7.29M the actual amount shipped is unknown. No article I have found has even said the Wii U has only shipped 7.29M. Every gaming and business article says sold.

as u said: when they are talking about numbers

this is form the offical earning report. that figures are ALWAYS shipped (sold in to retailers) numbers.
this applies to nintendo, microsoft and sony. they all give always shipped numbers to theire investors

if they dont talk about shipped numbers, they specify say its sold through (customers)

I agree with Gammalad, Nintendo and also Sony & Microsoft have always specified if it's sold or shipped and they would have to, investors need to know that, it's important info.

EDIT: Nevermind, read your other post. I guess it makes sense still it's kinda confusing when they say sold.
