Every news article I read says the Wii U sold 7.29M not shipped 7.29M, so why is everyone saying the Wii U is overtracked by 300k+? If Vgchartz is to be believed then the Wii U is only about 50-60k overtracked.

I know, I'm confused too. Even on their own website it shows it sold 7.29 M, not shipped.

http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/sales/hard_soft/index.html

Glad I am not the only one confused here...

sold in to retailers = shipped

sold trough to customers = sold

if nintendo shipped to retailers, they sold the units (to retailers)
thats a sell for them

However Nintendo normally will specify when they are talking shipped and sold, they  have done it in the past so all of a sudden they aren't now? Wii U has sold 7.29M the actual amount shipped is unknown. No article I have found has even said the Wii U has only shipped 7.29M. Every gaming and business article says sold.

I agree with Gammalad, Nintendo and also Sony & Microsoft have always specified if it's sold or shipped and they would have to, investors need to know that, it's important info.

EDIT: Nevermind, read your other post. I guess it makes sense still it's kinda confusing when they say sold.
