Considering that's pretty much the lineup for the whole year, for the PSP, at least one title is first party, and comparable consoles are getting about 3 times as many AAA titles, plus you mentioned a baseball game...

 

Not to hate, and the PSP 08 looks good, but I'm not sure that your PSP 2008 list disproves the fact that low software sales lead to less software developement on the platform.

 

It's just that, well, for the past 3 years, great PSP games have been few and far between. Sure, this year has a few good games, but don't you think that maybe it might be a coincidence they are all hitting at once, instead of a "zomg PSP is gonna get AAA titles at this pace for the rest of the generation."

Really? You think so? Would you consider games with review score of 80% or higher "great games"?

Go to gameranking, see how many 80%+ PSP games are out there... and if you don't mind, compare that to how many DS "great" games are out there.

 And then come and talk to me about them been  "few and far between".

There's a difference between reviewer's liking it, and your own personal opinion. I've played some games that are rated over 80% and I didn't think they were "great".

 well, unbiased reviews are the only way we can judge games at this point. Honestly, I personally think Nintendog is a piece of garbage, but there are over 40 reviews by professional saying otherwise.

Don't get all uppidy on me, just because "zomg, the PSP'z fanboyz, gots talking points" I just told you, the PSP 08 lineup is great, in the past the games have sucked, if they didn't wouldn't you not be on hear celebrating how the PSP finally is getting a decent yearly lineup. They have been largely crappy ports like freakin MLB06:The Show, Madden, and Hot Shots Golf. Ridge Racer second highest rated game. Comeon man!

I don't care how your taste in games works, my friend, but in my little corner of the world, I can scan that list and find it inflated, with very little there.

So, I agree, the best games your getting for the PSP are this year. What do you want from me? I just said that your "list for 08" doesn't disprove the barebones fact that the PSP is getting less support than it would if the titles were actually selling. Stop cherrypicking my posts.

1.)My response to your what big DS game is comming out question:

Dragon Quest 9. This is one of the biggest games all year for any system. It's going to be huge in Japan, and it will probably outsell every game on King of Wale's list combined! This game will be better than all of the RPG's the PSP is getting by far! It's not a spin-off and has Level 5 working on the game. Dragon Quest 9 might just be the JRPG of the year; there's no doubt that it will outscore all the others including the PSP's Kingdom Hearts game.

2.)The reason the why DS's library is so awesome:

I like it because it has a lot of quality games in the genres that work best for handhelds. It has a lot of pick-up-and-play RPG's that don't require you to play them as a console RPG. Pokemon is the best example. Games like Pokemon are games you can play anywhere, any time, and any place; whereas a game like Final Fantasy becomes useless in situations like waiting for a bus or something. A lot of the PSP's games require long periods of time to play them properly. The DS is great when it comes to quality games that manage to take advantage of the fact that the system is a handheld.

I think you misunderstood my post, Hunter_Alien. I was not critisizing the PSP itself or it's library. I happen to think that the PSP has a great library, and it does what it's good at better than any other system including the DS. However, this list does not make '08 the PSP's best year. The PSP has had bigger games than these in it's past years. Games like Metal Gear Solid and Grand Theft Auto are bigger than the games on this list.

Looks like I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and buy a PSP when KH comes out. Kingdom Hearts, as well as Battlefront PSP, God of War, Dissidia, and possibly Pursuit Force make me need one.
