I wouldn't expect any less from Insomniac. Their games have always been rather good performers. I saw no reason why this one would be an exception.
Looking forward to playing this.

SO? The videos I watched (and posted here) showed a pretty drop in quality to mantain draw distance and jaggies... I don't noticied that "a lot of stuff happening on screen". But you will call me fanboy... it is fine... the game is neither a graphical or technical showcase. My point is why Insomniac dropped 60fps after 2009... it weird because their gamer are made to runs at 60fps... Sunset Overdrive is a clear example... Ratchet & Clank become way worst after 30fps... they created fast actions games that benificiates from 60fps. It is a critical to that bad decision made in 2009... it was a terrible decision. PS. I can understand Ryse at 30fps for example because it is a slow paced game but SO is a fast paced game... same for Ratchet & Clank games... the drop in quality with 30fps was huge for the franchise. |
I never called you a fanboy, ethomaz, you only have a very strong bias, that's all :)
Ok, you don't see many stuff happening on screen? Well, others do and especially DF does so this is your opinion and that's fine but it seems you either watched the wrong videos or you don't want to see it :)
But I agree with 60fps in general: There is no genre where 60fps is of no benefit. But we can't have it all.

The drop in quality from A Crack in Time did not have much to do with going from 60 to 30 fps. The problem was that it was that the franchise was handed over to Insomniacs B-team, which also focused on make crappy spin-offs. To prove my point, Into the Nexus was great even though it was 30 fps.
God, I really want to play this game!

Your point support my theory... I dropped the controle after the first minutes of Into the Nexus due the framerate
Seems weird go from a 60fps franchice to 30fps.
Can't wait to give thid game a go this weekend! I love this time of year. One great game after another. Seems like another example of a game that will look fantastic despite DF telling me of some shortcomings. Looks "next gen" enough to me. Finally!

We can argue a lot but this game isn't even close to possible on last gen hardware so it's definitely next gen.

Looks like a good improvement over the E3 build that went down to 20 FPS all the time.

Sounds good. If MS brings down the price in Canada to $349 then I'll try to get a SO bundle.

So you discarded a great game due to 30fps?
I guess you're not going to play Bloodborne?
