It is possible to have both pretty graphics and fantastic gameplay.
I like pretty games, sue me.

It doesn't sell games, but it sure sells consoles, esp if one console frequently has higher res than another.

"With the 4K TVs and things - somebody was telling me that with a 4K TV, to even see it, your living room has to be big enough to sit like 12 feet from the screen."
Uuhm it's the exact opposite, you have to sit closer to the screen to see the difference. And this is a creative director? What a douche.

Yeah, it would. But the point of my example was that gameplay>graphics. |
And my point is that resolution does genuinly matter to some people. Me for example I cannot buy a multiplat game on my X1. Im too damn OCD and it would irritate me to no end knowing I could get a higher resolution ver on my PS4 to the point where it would effct how much fun im having. Sounds silly I know but to say this particular aspect is more important than that in a game is kinda generilizing, dont you think?

Not every game is made the same. Some games pixle desity is important others not so much. To say its not important at all is kinda ignorant, no offence.

I think what happens is people keep asking about resolution, Ubisoft keeps giving their usual response, and the internet goes crazy about it again and again.
All a company has to say is resolution doesn't really matter and the internet goes into a panic.
Less pixels means more resources for graphics and performance. Eventually that's a sacrifice developers will make. The Order 1886 is sacrificing part of the screen for improved graphics.

I think it's pretty funny that he's even talking about 4K, when they can't even manage 1080p. lol. What's he smoking? By the time they get to 4K, we'll be looking at 8-12K TV's.
It's sad how big an issue this has become for some gamers.

Yeah, I agree with him too. We've reached a sad point as gamers, where a game's graphics matter more than the story, gameplay, sound design, etc. |
If that were the case, everybody would have loved Ryse.
