Maybe I should not have said "shovelware" but my friends are not interested in Kinect based family/kids games. And that is what Microsoft was giving the XB360 the most in the 2010-2013 period.

I disagree, most of it was Arcade games. Y'know before indie bragging was cool.

This is nothing new for Microsoft. The original Xbox was pretty much left to die once the Xbox 360 came out.

It's a compromise. Do you push your latest and greatest hardware from the get-go? Or do you let yourself get held back by the many owners of the previous console?

Yeah, even though Sony had slightly more going on for the PS3 in its final year, it's worth noting that most of Sony 1st party devs are working on PS4 titles right now, many of which are unannounced.

It wasn't really a "betrayl" lol, MS just opted to let third parties have the bulk of software sales down the stretch as the XBox was the brand synonymous with things like Call of Duty and Battlefield.
