Forums - Sony - Share Play : New great PS4 feature !

The idea behind the SHARE Play where take control over another players game is to let them help you with a difficult level.

But you can let them play a game from the start without ruining anything.

Just start a new game before you hand-over the controller.

I don't think EA is going to be really happy about this. A few multiplayer matches in Fifa or Madden is easily done in an hour, so now only one of you're friends has to buy the game to play online matches.

This is by far the best feature that has come out this generation. If it works as advertised, and publishers don't get cold feet, Sony has a massive advantage.

The best part about this for me is not having to go back to the default version of a series all of my freinds are on. I pretty much buy every sports game every year, but most of my friends only pick one or two up per generation. Now I won't be stuck playing MLB The Show 2014 the next 3 years because everyone else is satisfied with it or don't want to spend the money on the minor improvments.

Plus it will be a big help picking up multiplayer trophies on games non of my friends will buy. Now they have no excuse not to hope on and run through a co-op session with me.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

I'm sure any developers that don't want this featue to work on their games could block it.  I don't think this is something Sony would have spent all this time on if they had not been talking to a lot of third party devs

Any developer, even EA, can see that this feature can only be positive for them. It gives people a chance to test the game and purchase it if they like it.

Surely nobody, except a few individuals who are so damn cheap that they don't mind to inconvenience their friends endlessly, will be content to just play games remotely on their friend's account.

Especially, as you point out sports games, to use their friend's account to play multiplayer games.

If anything, this gives developers a perfect excuse not to spend any money on demos.

I agree.  Some sales might be lost by someone sharing a game and that game not meeting expectations, but that will be some distance behind the amount of people who will try a game they wouldn't have otherwise and then bought it for themselves.  I know I wouldn't want to play a full game on someone elses system, with one hour sign ins and no trophies, and probably less resolution.

Easily the best next gen feature available
MS take notes on this one

It could be a great feature. It remains to be seen how well the system works. Primarily, the latency and stability of the connection. If it's anything like Remote Play on PS4-Vita, this feature will rely heavily on the quality of your internet connection.

Personally, I think the 1-hour time limit is perfectly reasonable. It prevents your from just AFK-ing your PS4 and letting your friend play all day. I can't think of any game that doesn't give at least a few opportunities within an hour to reset the timer.

Also, this is my first post in this forum! Some crazy rules prevent me from posting a new thread until I have 50 posts. So I can't properly introduce myself until then. (What's the point of the "introduce yourself" category in the forums? lol)

I look forward to discussing gaming and sales in the future!

I can't stress enough just how good a feature this is. And some publishers and platform owners would rather have you pay monthly for early access/demos? Guess we can see why sony said that system didn't work for them.

With this anyone can try out any game as long as they have a friend that has it. And this will ultimately push people to buy more games.

Realistically though, I don't expect it to work too well initially. Only for a very limited few with really great internet on both ends. But in time, I believe the feature will improve. If sony slapped a patent on this feature, then thats it for every other platform.

The demo is dead...... Long live the demo.

I guess that the developers will be able to disable this function if they want, especially for private alpha or beta.
