1997: Abe's Oddysee (PS1)

2001: Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (PS2)

2002: Ico (PS2)

2009: Persona 4 (PS2)

My 10/10 masterpiece is:

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace

Garth Marenghi: (sat at his desk, reading from one of his novels The Told) Nina's eyes popped out of what was left of her back. Why oh why had she opened that tomb? The sand turned red. This was because she was bleeding on it. Blood - ruby-red blood, her blood. Blood… and piss and shit. This was the worst day of her life.

2005: God Of War (The game that still has the best narrative in any game, and the one which started a saga of epicness)
2006: GTA: Vice City Stories (Really underrated game which was simply a blast to play and has the best soundtrack in any game)
2007: God Of War II (Improved on a masterpiece)
2009: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (Its praised by many, and it really deserves the praise, and its a very fun and thrilling adventure)
2010: God Of War III (Improved further on a masterpiece, and took gaming to new heights with its epic boss battles and fun, fluid and varied weapons)
2010: God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta (An underrated game overshadowed by God Of War III, but had the best story in the series and gave Kratos a new dimension as well as one of the most awesome weapon in any game)
2013: Grand Theft Auto V (The best and most fun open-world game, with an epic scale of open-world that is really awesome)
2013: The Last Of Us (The best story in any game, and had very intense gameplay moments and amazing stealth gameplay)

In a thread filled with nostalgia your masterpieces started pretry recently, did you started with the PS2?

I started gaming on my PC in 2009, then moved on to PSP in 2011, played God Of War: Ghost of Sparta which was so amazing that I had to buy a PS3 for it to play God Of War: Collection and God Of War III. Of course I also got a PS Vita and PS4 later on.

In no particular order.

Super Mario 3
Super Mario World
Sonic 2
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time
Streets of Rage 2
Gunstar Heroes
Street Fighter 2
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection
Suikoden 2
Star Ocean: The 2nd Story
Xenogears
Legend of Dragoon
GTA: San Andreas
Spider-Man 2
Final Fantasy IX
Shadow of the Colossus
Uncharted 2

I am the Playstation Avenger.

That explains a lot.

As you have a PS3 you should check some more old games, like Resident Evil 4, Shadow of the Colossus and maybe some PS1 games.

I've played a couple PS1 games, like Tekken 3, GT2 and Wipeout, and they look so bad they are just unplayable. I've also played Resident Evil 4 already and while I did like it its not one of my favourites, let alone be in my 10/10 list.

Shadow of the colossus
Flower
The Last of Us
Halo 2
Hotline Miami

And I think that's all. Even my favorite game did not deserved 10 out of 10 (Devil May Cry)

20 games I think deserve the 10/10. They've left their mark and even today it's a pleasure to play them:

Super Mario Bros. NES 1985
Prince of Persia PC 1989
Street Fighter 2 PC 1991
Jennifer Capriati Tennis MegaDrive 1992
SimCity 2000 PC 1994
Sonic 3 & Knuckles MegaDrive 1994
Battle Arena Toshinden PC 1995
Mega Race 2 PC 1996
Sonic Adventure DC 1998
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 DC 2000
GTA Vice City PS2 2002
This Is Football 2003 PS2 2002
Project Gotham Racing 2 Xbox 2003
GTA San Andreas PS2 2004
Crashday PC 2006
Trackmania United PC 2007
Super Mario Galaxy Wii 2007
Red Dead Redemption X360 2010
L.A. Noire X360 2011
GTA V X360 2013

I honestly don't think I've ever played a 10/10 game in my life, and I've played a whole lot of games. A 10/10 should be more or less impossible to get imo, yet dozens of games get them like candy from reviewers.
There's no such thing as a flawless game, in my mind.

Theres a few games that i consider to be masterpieces. Sonic 3 & Knuckles, FF7, Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, Resident Evil 2 and Code Veronica, Silent Hill 2, Metal gear solid, Suikoden 2, Grandia 2, etc.

But if theres one game i would say got the closest to perfection, its Xenogears.
