Forums - Gaming - *The PS4 is Lame but No1 Cares

The Bestselling Console of the gen is also the lame one

First off, I've had experience with all 3 consoles. I used to own a Wii U, own a PS4 now, and have played on the XBone at a friends house. I can tell you that the PS4 is the lamest out of the 3.

Why do I say this? Well, it has the least "new" out of them. The Wii U has a tablet-like controller in the GamePad. When I used it, it did feel a bit exciting if only because it was something I haven't experienced before in console gaming. The XBone had Kinect 2.0. Yes, I've experienced Kinect briefly before but when it was used as a voice reader, it was pretty cool. Although, I guess without Kinect, it's in the same boat as the PS4.

So, what does the PS4 have special? Well, nothing yet. At the moment, it's basically just a standard console upgrade. It feels...normal & kind of lame in comparison.

What does this mean? Apparently nothing as the PS4 is currently taking the gen by storm. Do I care? Nope. I'm enjoying my PS4 so far. (Will post my overall thoughts in a later thread) I just find it a bit odd that the least "New" console is winning. It actually reminds me of the Nintendo GC, in that it's purely game focused.

PS4 has Now and Morpheus to come.

Kinect 2.0 was so successful that despite repeated promises, MS took only half a year to unbundle it.

Wii U Gamepad is ok but is under utilized in almost two years.

PS Vita can be used as a controller, and can do more than the Wii U gamepad can ever dream of. Oh and the PlayStation camera is an optional peripheral device.

This thread can only end well. And whilst it may not be the most original console out there, that doesnt mean it's lame

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Games>features.

Well, except that the PS4 has voice control with a headset or the camera and psnow and shareplay coming and remote play...yeah wicked lame.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Exactly. Lamest one. Although, this whole generation is lame and no hardware is as exciting as the last one. Sales has been proving it.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Why are anti-PS threads always able to stay open longer than anti wii/x1 threads and always have a mod saying ''this can only end well'' and leaves the thread open. Mods proceed to leave the thread go on on for PAGES. If this was an anti xbpx/wiiu thread it would have been closed by now on the first page with a mod saying ''This will not end well'' or ''I can't see a good argument over this'' or ''This thread was made to instigate''

the lesson of last gen: games >>> promises of possibilities

ps4's massive popularity, imo, is a reflection of the disappointment and anger that the wii-mote and kinect benefited only a very small number of games but negatively impacted the way most games are played.

Remote Play and Share Play alone are extremely cool features, particularly Share Play. I love watching people broadcasting their game-play, and being able to do so at the touch of a button is also extremely cool. Maybe the console isn't for you? Or perhaps rather than the lack of features available, your issue may be with the lack of games? And when I say that, I mean lack of games you are personally interested in? Hopefully that will end this November though with all the big releases!
