Forums - Gaming Discussion - Ps4 and xboxone, 2014, year of the gaming flops.

None of the Wii U's games, barring Mario Kart, Bayonetta, and Smash, have nearly the same ambition that this years flops had. Pikmin and Tropical Freeze aren't "heavy hitters." They're light jabs.

I saw your list, and it looked pretty boring to me ;--p.

This thread is damned silly and won't lead anywhere good.

Nintendo fans: We are so satisfied with our system and games that we are not going to by the system or the games.... OP how does that make sense?? WiiU sales are in the tank and somehow you get from this that people are more satisfied? Also, a small minority out of the millions who bought destiny are not satisfied and yet you conclude that it is a lot of people. If you look from investors to gamers to actual sales, the company with the least satisfaction is Nintendo. But whatever helps you feel better believe what you want but like most in this thread have told you, you beliefs and opinions don't square with concrete facts like sales and not debatable opinions like "left with a bad taste in their mouth". What a joke.

Yes, because games like wii sports and new super mario bros wii are totally the greatest games ever made, solely based on the fact that consumers ate it up...

I can see good software objectively. And wii u is the strongest right now, and by the end of the year when countng smash wii u and bayonetta 2.

When you include multi-plats that aren't on the WiiU, both the PS4 and X1 actually have a more critically acclaimed library, despite only being out 11 months vs the WiiU's 23.

That's one of the major reasons for the WiiU's poor sales. It's a fantastic system for Nintendo fans, but if you aren't interested in Nintendo titles (or at the very least aren't willing to give up on everyone else's games for them), then the WiiU is a terrible purchase choice.

On a side note, it's curious that you don't mention titles like Shadow of Mordor or Forza Horizon 2, both of which have had a fantastic reception from both critics and players.

destiny..... Sold well... Most were left with bad taste in their mouth.

How exactly do you know that? Did you talk to all destiny buyers and a majority told you it was a bad experience? Or are you basing that on a small and loud minority on a web forum?

Titanfall, hyped hyped and down the drain. Left people feeling underwhelmed... A c-title.. Still sold great.

destiny..... Sold well... Most were left with bad taste in their mouth.

watch dogs... Good sales.. Mixed reception among costumers..

now.. Wii u titles.. Mario kart 8, costumers loved it. Pikmin 3, costumers luuuvd it. Tropical freeze, those who played it call it the greatest platformer in years. Super mario 3d world, folks had a blast. I could go on and on.

Why is it that nintendo costumers are more satisfied with the finished software products and enjoy their gaming experience, as opposed to ps4 owners and xboxone owners being underwhelmed?

why do ps4 sell so well when the games do not satisfy the costumers? And why dont wii u sell better when people are much more satisfied with the software?

Logically speaking, it's not hard for Nintendo to please Nintendo fans.  They want platformers and lots of Mario.  Boom, done.  They want one Zelda and Metroid a generation.  Some of them, and I guess you could call these people the "Whores of the Industry", anything else that comes along, they'll like that, too, as long as it's developed by or contracted by the company they love.

The problem with your logic is that there are a lot--A LOT--of people who aren't satisfied with Nintendo's narrow focus and predictable nature.  If these people, the people who DID NOT buy a Wii U, were to be given a Wii U, then they would not be satisfied.

See the Playstation 1 for details.  The Playstation and Xbox consumer base is full of people who owned Nintendo consoles and weren't satisfied.
