It's not likely that the 3DS will stay ahead of the PS4 for it's lifetime, but it's FAR more possible than the PS4 outselling the 3DS in any timeframe that can reasonably considered "soon" and infinitely more possible than the PS4 outselling the 3DS by the end of the year.

I love how people let their assumptions get the best of them. I never said it would happen this year, now did i? It's funny people find "Soon'' more weird than "Never"


It's because soon is such a vague answer, you're assuming that we all know what you mean by "soon"...

I didn't assume that. I wasn't really busy with setting a definition to it.

LOL never gonna happen. Not unless nintendo decides to drop all support for the 3ds at the end of next year.

If Ps3 sold more than 80 million and it is still selling healthy (trailing above Wii U yearly after all these years and with ps4 on the market), I dont see why some people see it hard for it to beat those numbers

I think it will end up selling more thanks to a long life spam

Oh, i have edit with "end of 2017".

Those would be some sick PS4 numbers, I'm just not sure though. PS4 at 20 million end of this year? Then three years of 20+ million.

It's fine that you didn't assume that (and I really don't think you did) it just could come off like you did because you said such a vague answer of "soon" and then get irritated by people assuming an actual finite date to your "soon". Because in actuality, the end of the year is still considered soon and they weren't wrong in assuming that's what you meant because you didn't specify it. In any event it really doesn't matter and I feel that JWeinCom did bring up some pretty valid points in his opinion.

You never think in terms of "generations", that never made much sense in consumer electronics. The fact is the N3DS is a new "iteration" of hardware and there's nothing you can do to change that. Lumping the two consistently different platforms together to boast the results is disingenuous at best. 

Your reasons for this being an excuse for people to not see the sales combined is half-baked since they have a valid point about exclusive software differentiating the the two platforms hence seperating them making sense ...
