Forums - Gaming - (UK) Voting for UKIP is bad for gaming

Here's a very brief post from me, I know I don't post much these days but I like to highlight the odd issue here and there.
Anyway did you know that one of UKIPs policies is to scrap the Department for Culture Media and Sport?

"UKIP will abolish the Department for Culture Media and Sport."

If you are wondering why this is such a bad thing then maybe you need to look at the that department do. This is the department that was responsible for the UK video game dev tax relief scheme to make it cheaper for dev studios to set up shop here in the UK.

I know everyone loves a protest vote, but next time maybe give that protest vote to someone else.

Sony want to make money by selling art, Nintendo want to make money by selling fun, Microsoft want to make money.

But KylieDog, we are the bestest! So all gaming would suffer!

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Nothing that would affect the players.  Major publishers would just shift their studios elsewhere.

Was just going to say this.  It is a global economy now so if one country doesn't fit your needs just move.

UKIP are the best of the worst - but this is bad. I'll prob vote labour, since green party are hardly gonna win.

It's hardly going to effect me as a gamer

I'm voting torrries. Labour screwed our economy and favour benefits. I hate benefit Britain.

People actually think more welfare benefits and government regulations for game developers is bad for vidya developers? Gee, I wonder why vidya games went into a downward spiral in quality recently...

Then again, I don't live in the U.K. But if I did, I'd probably vote for UKIP over the two parties.

I'm voting UKIP.
