Forums - Sales - China Sales Were Added In WW Total? What's The Source Of Those Sales Numbers?

VGChartz obviously never made up for their undertracking of the PS4. It's definitely worth bringing that up, as it is a failure on the part of the site.

As for the Chinese numbers... Good question. lol

VGC definitely don't have much credibility, especially failing to respond properly to -actual- direct information from Sony. So we ought to take their guesses with a large grain of salt. As far as I can tell, though, VGC are basically their own source on the Chinese numbers.

As for PS4 in China, that hasn't happened yet. We can expect it to be the leading console there, though.

I really really hope this is a troll thread. I can't understand how some people's minds work if it isn't.

I guess a site that makes its living on sales numbers would know better than us.

You might be surprised, then. :P

The source? The source??!!

VGChartz IS the SOURCE.

Either you belive on those numbers or not. And it´s for all numbers from all consoles.

Deal with it.

Lol, stop acting like fans of all fanbases ALWAYS just except the numbers as is and NEVER question the numbers.  Everybody does it when there is evidence they are wrong.  Sometimes even if they just want the numbers to be higher.  Of course, there are plenty who do the opposite, defend the numbers even if its obvious they are wrong, just cause it looks better for their preferred console.

@ OP

ioi already said he doesn't know where the couple extra 100ks of PS4s should go, so he won't add them til he knows.  Personally, I think they should just be added to the rest of the world and adjusted later when we have more concrete numbers for NA and EU.  That way we at least have the correct total sales.  I also doubt the China numbers, since I doubt the XBO sold through most of its initial shipment given all the pics I saw from China launch week.  Still, it doesn't really bother me.  I just think they should adjust PS4's numbers to be correct.

The entitlement among certain Sony/Playstation fans these days is incredible. If it was the other way around there wouldn't be a single thread made about it.

According to Chinese video games news site 17173, during an interview with the press, Shanghai Media Group vice-president Zhang Dazhong let slip that the Xbox One sold over 100,000 consoles. 17173 says that the number includes pre-sales from when the console first went on pre-order.

I actually read that the Xbox One sold less than 20k in China on launch day.  I wonder if they got their numbers.

I thought the 17K was preorders only.

Possible because on launch day only the pre orders were sold, the xbox one was not official available on the original launch day in retail. The release for retail was a few days later.   If 100k is added or not, I don't really care that much, official quarter shipment numbers are more important and correct;.
