Third party support never left the building. Nintendo never let them in by never listening to their demands for specs in 2011, thus  the outcome today. Third party was more than happy to port their last gen games but next gen was out of the question and there is no reason after trying to reason with Nintendo that they should.

No, 3rd parties left because the Wii U sucks at moving their software.

Look at the original Wii. It was getting some decent core support until those sales dried up.

No. Nintendo used to run the main share of the third party market until Sony came into the gaming industry and changed that. Look up the history of Nintendo. You'll find that they ran the console industry inquestioned and had even Sega under their thumb until the Playstation reached the market. Nintendo tried to get panasonic to come into the struggle but that didn't even help.

Because of format issues...Nintendo soft plenty of devs to Sony and people followed the Sony console because of its multimedia capabilities. Nintendo's had headedness in not fighting back with  the same formats they need to have or better did not help their cause. Sony brought CD's and they brought cartridges. SOny brought DVD's and they brought minidics. They were always behind in that respect when they should've known better and it cost them the first two gens Sony was in. It was initially politics resulting from format bias and Nintendo knew they needed to play ball and didn't.

Third party washed away gen after gen, essentially conditioning gamers on the console to get used to the lack thereof when at one time they were in abundance because as far as politics was concerned they had no competition and always got their way.

As for comparing apples to oranges with large open world games then explain dragon age and Far Cry keeping a cool 1080p On the PS4 in game compared to Assassins Creed on PS4. ;)

I haven't played the new Dragon Age or Far Cry. But I don't believe they have enviornments as busy as AC:U.

Either way, the PS4 version of AC:U was likely held back for parity.

I know the story...

Bottom line, if 3rd party games sold better on Wii U support would have continued.

Dragon Age is so huge it has 200 hours of missions (without DLC) and I have no doubt its bigger than AC: U. Witcher 3...well I don't expect either console to reach 1080p for that game. That is just not happening. AC:U is questionable...thats all i'm saying dude. Dragon Age Inquisition isn't going to feel linear like Dragon Age 2. The Witcher really must've put them through their paces. This Dragon Age is going to be on a world map rather than just one region. Very ambitious much like Assassins Creed size wise in that respect.

Core gamers migrated away with the Gamecube

And you really think it was the Nintendo faithful who made Just Dance a megahit?

Well the Gamecube and Wii certainly had a bigger core audience than the Wii U. Not that it really matters, there are four other consoles that are better for core gamers. The Wii U is great for Nintendo games and some other Japanese stuff.

I think a lot of Nintendo faithfuls also enjoyed Just Dance on the Wii. They just dont't wanna admit it! That's fine though. I'm a core Xbox gamer that enjoyed some Kinect. In fact, I recently completed a DBZ game on Kinect!

900P 60FPS on Xbox One?

It would more likely be 900p 30FPS.

It should be 1080p/30 fps for both, we are talking about Ubisoft, where you have to put 'Parity' after the name of each Game. Assassin Creed Parity, Far Cry Parity, etc Parity.   They develop a Game with the weakest hardware in mind=XBone, and then give the same game to both PS4 and XBone.  Why to waste money pushing more PS4 hardware when the Game will sell a lot regardless of it, and when they are already getting $$$ from MS to have parity. How to blame them. I lost any respect for Ubisoft but many many gamers on this planet don't even know about this 'paid parity by MS' so Ubisoft don't care about few gamers who know about this and are disgusted. PS4 has twice the userbase of XBone, and this is the way Ubisoft say thanks to all PS4 fans.

Cute.

AC:U is currently the only major title from Ubisoft that seems to be aiming for parity.

I highly doubt FC4 will be 1080p on the X1. I hear developers are purposely gimping X1 versions to end debates and raise boasting.

Guess that depends which "core" we are talking about. The term has been distorted over the years somewhat, to the point where it's often a stand-in for "dudebro". I consider myself a pretty serious gamer, but I love Wii Sports Resort.

Wii U's userbase is, so far, quite "core" simply because the console itself is too expensive and obscure to have bought by many "casuals". In the sense that most Wii U owners will be fairly avid gamers.

Dragon Age has more than just citizen NPC's ppulating their world but dragons, creates and many other things with their own AI. Its densely populated. Extremely detailed and multi-regional.
