Not surprised. For a country with 1.3 BN people 70k first week sales isn't going to be noticed. Xbox brand will stay irrelevant there like other places such as Japan but so will Sony to a slightly lesser extent. It's just not their culture and if Sony for example could get more than 3M lifetime PS4 sales they will have done good.

lol

theire (purchase) culture changed dramatically in the last few year

and still will

wait to see how it turns out. consoles can becoume big in china.

or they wont. both is possible

what's stopped it from becoming big in south korea? the same thing that will stop it in china. Cheaper gaming on PC/mobile that's just as if not more addictive than console gaming.

Japan is heading mobile so i don't see china showing a reverse trend. PS4  will sell the most in chinaand I would be shocked if it had more than 5M lifetime. That is tiny for a country with such a big population.

u cant compare korea and china

they just both asian

are iphones big in korea?

are german cars big in korea?

no! why? they got theire own stuff and brands

why cant u compare korea gaming market to chinese one?

because korean gaming market is an established one. china is a new growing one

yes it CAN be the same. but its not a given that it WILL

thats the diffrence

My prediction is that it won't and PC gaming will remain dominant. That doesn't mean it willor that it's fact but it's my prediction and that ain't changing unless sales say otherwise. Xbox didn't even ell out it's shipment andSonysaid 200k a year which I think will be less than they sell but still. Nothing for the population.

not totally surprised, wasnt there a long poll that asked what next console they favor? and ps4 won by a 5/6-1 ratio?

Judging by what I've read elsewhere, if they manage to to push Minecraft successfully in the country they may succeed in getting the sales surge they are after.

I read it bud but not him not seeing Xbox ones at HIS location is a big reason for this article?

"His location?" It sounds like he was in the Beijing version of Akihabara. If he had trouble finding any XBOs at all, much less shoppers interested in buying them, that's a pretty bad sign.

Yup, too bad he has not been at all 4000+ cities x1 is being sold at. yea bad sign O_o

LOL the head in the sand approach.  Very popular with certain crowds these days ;)

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

[Prediction Made 6/18/2014]

Over 100k first week. That's all we need to know. Microsoft did good.

It's 100 k shipped. Where do you see over 100k sold ? In a forum ? Please don't tell me you believed this rumor with the 100k preorders.

Ms himself never said 100k soldthough, because it's not.

Even vgchartz say they only sold 50-80k in china first week, and it's probably a little too much.

lol 100k shipped in china ??? Please... What they ship like 2 per store??? That number as shipped for a launch doesn't make any sense for a country like china... But yeah sure it's shipped

Well, just try to learn chinese and enjoy this topic .

It's not like i care after all, you're free to believe what you want to.

I don't care either... I could be the only one buying an XBO I'd be fine with it as long as the game I want are all there and then some like now...

but you can throw me any obscure or major forum, news outlet etc, it doesn't. Change that while they might not have sold the 100k preorder claimed.. There is absolutely zero doubt that there are more than 100k shipped in china for launch, anybody thinking otherwise is a (have been ban to many times to use the word) cause it makes zero commercial sens to do otherwise... For cost, exposure and availability...

but hey sure... Like you don't care me neither XBO us to me the best and most complete gaming system in that price range no matter what and I put more hours into it than most gamers around here... Simple if I ain't working or sleeping one of the box is on when I'm at home... And that's all that matters really to me

hopefully you now understand where I'm coming from. Don't let blind loyalty get in the way of good judgement. Have a read of this. A chilling reception for the one indeed. Likewise Sony will do well to even double the X1's small sales even lifetime sales. (Will be relatively small for both). Hopefully as Nathan Drake says, "greatness from small beginnings".

Here's the link to the "Chinese are 'Chilly' to XB1" thread since it's very related to this one: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=191708&page=1#

Fact remains they sold 100K console's at launch. Success. I'm tired of these flamebait articles.
