Forums - Website Topics - We need an "ignore user" option

Ah Mars, the perfect candidate... perhaps I have been unlucky in the threads we have both posted in but the last 3 or 4 times all I have heard from you is BS about there being however many PS3s sold in India, when it was shown to you when first brought up that it's PS2s not PS3s.

I could see ignoring a user as essential if they are messaging you too many times or harassing you on your profile.

Well yes - but those are bannable offenses, so again, no point to this feature...

So why hasn't users been banned for posting on my wall even after bringing it to mods attention...

I agree with legend here, I think it's quite useful.

Just imagine you post in a thread, there will always be people disagreeing with you, That's fine, but you will get a few people who goes to everywhere you post and say NOTHING but "Oh, you fail/you got pwned"

Now, that'd be an excellent time to use an 'ignore button', since the user really has nothing intelligent to add to the conversation and is only there to irritate others.

**sigh**

I have yet to see anybody fully explain to me, what benefit would be gained by such a feature.

Is literally ignoring somebody so difficult that you need a computer to help you do it????

There are MANY posts I see from users who do nothing but irritate - I simply skip over them... ...it's called a 'mouse wheel' and it works very well. ;)

It's like trying to watch a movie at the theater when there are people talking. Sure some people get kicked out of the threater for some things but generally the people who are whispering and still annoying don't. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to "mute" them so you don't have to try to ignore them?

How would you feel if half the site didn't hear what you were saying? How would you feel if every time you made a thread no one saw it because one day you pissed us off enough to click the ignore button....

I feel bad because I'm being very rude to some people tonight, including some mods, but I think I'm just reaching my limit of BS.

Well if nothing else, it could save the mods quite a bit of time.

I've learned to ignore Starcraft and Happysquirrel and a few others. Im at my point in ignoring a few other people too.

I find it funny that legend11 and Kingofwale are for this idea :)

I find that funny too. I don't mind them but I see many other users do.
