Forums - Sony - MGS4 doesn't have multiple languages on 1 disc.......

 Who's keeping it under 25gigs, other developers? Because I remember a very long time ago (Summer 07 I believe from a quick attempt at research), Kojima was saying that he'd probably be filling up a dual-layered disk of 50gigs.

Yeah I remember that, but it was all talk. The most recent thing we heard about size was TGS when (Payton?) they said that they were hoping to keep it on a single-layered disk.

Trust me i'm not knocking the game. Stealth games (all of them) are not my thing, so I have no compulsion to buy a PS3 for this game. That said, I'm sure this game will be top-notch for all that like the genre.

But I'm sure the last I heard was that they were trying to keep it to one-sided disks, and I struggle with the notion that the game suddenly doubled in size. Also, i'm positive that they haven't done nearly the amount of compression they easily could've, because it is music to Sony's PR department's ears to hear that Blu-Ray was necessary for the game.

We'll see how necessary it was when the 360 gets MGS4 'sigma' in 12 months lol.

the thing is blu ray was supposed to be so large that they could ship 1 disk with all regions on it europe usa and Japanese with one time print to reduce costs hard to believe they need more then 48 gigs for a game!

One example, my room mate and his friends are studying in Japanese. Heck, they watch Japanese movies all the time (english subtitles only I might add)

I still think anyone who wants the other languages will be able to get them. For Naruto: Rise of a Ninja for 360, when they couldn't fit the Japanese track onto the DVD, they just gave it away as free DLC. I could see Konami going that route, so it will likely not even be an issue.

Wow ... games are getting really huge . Soon PC gamers will need a minimum 500 GB hdds to play games ...
