Ok, thanks very much for the explanation.
It is so fun when somebody shares a link with leaked data to prove GAF leaker are wrong and after check the numbers you see GAF showed the same numbers way before the leak.
Just show that Creamsugar, Aqua and others two or three guys there have full access to NPD.
Now stop to complain about the GAF leaks... they do an amazing job for all of us... without GAF we will never know the NPD numbers.
Am I reading correctly that Wii U is down 8% from last September? How is that even possible? Don't see any big releases last year except W101.

True, and I think a number of us (on both GAF and VGC) don't subscribe to tribalism and other such nonsense.
It's a great thing that Gaf has some notable trusted insiders, otherwise as you say things would be dramatically tougher to gauge/confirm.

Hm... fair enough I guess. Though one might think that 2014 Wii U with its newfound attention should be able to easily outsell last years "selling like a dead rock" Wii U.

We shouldn't be debating about the Xbox One vs Xbox 360 graph.
1.) Xbox 360 was still supply constrained, Xbox One is everywhere
2.) Xbox 360 had no compitetion at this time in it's lifecycle, the Xbox One had competition on day one
3.) The Xbox 360 turned out to be less expensive than the PS3, the Xbox One launched at a more expensive price and has recently achieved price parity.
It's still fun to compare, but this isn't the same situation.
