Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS4 December Launch In China

It's time for Playstation total world domination's if the shipping number is bigger then Xbox one, there is possibility outselling Xbox one number that had been sold there.

Eh, it'll be a cripple fight in China. These things are novelties at best.

Let's generously guess FW X1 sold through 60k. With iPhone6 launching shortly afterwards, the 2nd and 3rd week would look something like 7k and 4k, respectively, making a bulls-eye shot towards 1-2k/week baseline. And that's even fairly optimistic to be honest. There's not a precedent for people sustaining home consoles there, and as we can see in South Korea, a market that's fully invested in PC + Phone + MMO is pretty useless for a console to bother in.

PS4 might 'win', but it's a phyrric victory in a market so tiny and irrelevant.

X1 lifetime might .. miiiiiiiiight stretch to 400k in China over a few years. Even if PS4 doubled that, it's still peanuts.

It'd be a victory plain and simple, not a pyrrhic victory

预计总投资金额是100万元,该项目员工人数20人
Total investment = ¥100,000 and total staff number = 20 lol.

BTW, where did they say anything about December LAUNCH?

Kill the lifetime in 24 hours lol

Only 200k 'annually' though. I'm sure they'll increase that when they find out what the demand is.

Only if they are allowed to.

It's a bit vague and December is soon ith no official announcement yet. I can't imagine they will actually launch in December. Although they really should. One might assume that China sees a year's end sales boost as the rest of the worl.

Considering how troublesome MS' China launch was I doubt they will manage it since the end of the year. Seems that there are many obstacles to overcome if a foreign company wants to sell their products in China.

Packaging=/=Launch

Then again i bet even Sony don't know when will they allowed by Chinese gov to release the console.

I took that 200k as being this year because if they only expect 200k in a whole year they are crazy.

Yeah it's not gonna be easy for sure, but Playstation brand it self is big, most asian people since PS1 bought the console on black market  and PS4 already on the asian market since launched on November, usually they imported the console directly from US or Japan. It's not gonna be that big the gap on sales but for sure we can now agree both console will reach officially and we can track more accurately.
