Forums - Sales Discussion - X1 is putting up a fight in the US and the UK and it's very competitive there, might win those regions

Drill, jega and toastboy are like the three musketeers of the Xbox brigade.

OT: All these ifs and maybes. How about just saying what you wanna say? The Xbox 1 will win US and UK...and will still be behind the PS4.

Toastboy, The Drill, Jega

Why is it the X1 has the most (i don't even know how to describe them) nuts fans on this site.

Why do the superior sales of the PS4 hurt them so much?

Can they not enjoy their console without it selling the most?

It seems not.

Jega is a tryhard,

Toastboy has let the forum fame get to his head

and TheDrill is basically the Bieber of these threads.

Young, handsome, rich and famous ?

I accept your compliment

PS4 already is selling better in UK again by a good margin.

And September will be the biggest gap in sales since last year... it will be 200-300k diffference in PS4 favor.

It's not that big of a margin, considerably lower than other regions

And yet still a bigger margin than the Xbox One was able to outsell the PS4 during that one week it outsold it. O.o if the PS4's margin of outselling its competitor in the UK isn't that big, then that one week of victory for the Xbox One is infinitesimally unimportant... Even if it hadn't, in the Xbox One's case, been just ONE week.

Pay attention, I have another argument, the fact that the PS4 is not outselling the X1 significantly more in the UK and the US, so the difference in units grows very very slowly, which means X1 can rebounce at any time.

But I am paying attention! D: But the last time you made a thread, you were convinced the price drop and paywall removal would help turn things around too, and yet the U.S. gap, both in numbers and in percentages, is only wider than it was before.

First, I do actually agree; absolutely, getting outsold by 20% in the U.S., by itself is no biggie, (well, not compared to the markets it's getting obliterated in,) and CAN be reversed at any time; and, while the Xbox One's chances of catching up in global sales reside somewhere in a snowball in a supernova's chance, at least getting sales parity, if not a lead, in the U.S. and U.K. by itself are within reach. This is more based on the fact that Microsoft's efforts, in terms of software and general 'style' seem to target those markets a lot more strenuously than the rest of Europe and Asia. If they're going to succeed to catch up anywhere, it will be in one or both of those markets.

But the Xbox One kind of needs to start actually reversing momentum first, in a consistent, more-than-800-units-way, to keep this from staying in the realm of 'It's Possible!' and move into the realm of 'It's Probable!'

As things currently stand, the PS4 also has a chance of widening the gap even faster in the U.S. and U.K., because both sides have games coming, both sides are going to have bundles; the Xbox One might have more of a shooter-centric bent, which would appeal more to the U.S. market, but the PS4 has greater sales momentum, and a larger install base to build upon. Which factor is going to outweigh the other has yet to be seen. Sales momentum, and a bigger install base, helped the Xbox 360 win NPD after NPD, long after its exclusives dried up to a couple of games a year. They're still vulnerable to having that phenomena work against them this time, with the PS4 selling more simply because people hop aboard the platform their friends have.

Your conclusion doesn't seem based upon an actual study of probability, and more on the oft-used 'Well, ANYTHING can happen!' claims that are tossed on as a form of blanket explanation. Sure, anything can happen. Including the exact opposite of what you're saying. =P

I am curious, though, are you still convinced the Xbox One will close the U.S. gap by January 2015?

In the UK the PS4 sold a bit more total, 35 % more than the X1.

I love this line!  Just a bit more...only 35%  LOL

So, your previous thread was locked by Carl (http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6513900) because it was factually inaccurate and you were just going round in circles as the thread deteriorated. As things stand, I don't see how anything has changed.

As Carl said if/when the X1 overtakes the PS4 in the US, then sure you'll have a point. But right now this thread can only end badly and it's best if we all cut our losses and kill it now. Please don't make it again, else you might be moderated.

In short, locking.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Microsoft needs a lot more than the US and UK to win the battle. UK is a pretty small market overall.

we should make a prediction thread where we guess what the threads from the xbox fans will be next year when the tide clearly hasn't turned but they still claim it will.
