Forums - Nintendo - Will GC on the Wii U finally bring honor to the mostly neglected system from the past?

Well... People are mostly excited about the controller but I think most people will still continue to say that the GC was eh console

It had some great games but eh

The Wii was a Gamecube. Many of the games that are worth getting have seen HD releases, or at least Wii releases. The problem with this is that there will still be a bottleneck on production. I'd wager that after the first GC title is released we'll only get at most 5 in the year that follows.

I hope this isn't the case...but anyone on the VC can attest to its likelihood.

How can GC can be saved on a plattaform that is wishing doing GC numbers?

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Unfortunately, this means that games from the most neglected system of the past will have to settle for a second life on the most neglected system of the present.

While I do indeed hope that GC games come to the WiiU eShop so that more people will be able to experience its incredible library, it doesn't mean much for me personally because I already have all of my GC games playable on my still-connected Wii.

I think that they were waiting to get the GC controller in there for the N64/GC virtual console

Thanks for all the great memories!

So the ignored systems is going to go on an even more ignored system?

I don't think it will change much. Turbographic didn't do good on Wii VC. I'm not saying people won't love to have its key games. But not much is gonna really change its image. Be greatful that you'll be able to replay (assuming they come out) Soul Calibur 2, RE0, RE, F-Zero, Chibi-Robo, Ikaruga etc. again.

Bringing the GC over to the Wii U is a bad omen of the Wii U's future

Gamecube games on VC might take more than a decade considering they still havent discovered N64 yet.

I don't play games for popularity. The Gamecube had games that many shouldn't have missed. I feel bad for Nintendo as even their best works get passed because of stupid reasons. It's really sad.
