Someone dismissed it without even raising it in mod chat lol.

I had no idea that calling a guy a "fucking waffle" was offensive enough to warrant a two-week long ban. I've read far more insulting and condescending comments and the ones who made them get nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Is there some sort of elite club on here or something? 'Cause this is just pathetic. People can be as ignorant as they want and you can't call them out on it.

You obviously have to be physically attracted to Sony or Nintendo to get on well with the herd on this site. And that's just not for me.

ban length has little to do with the specific comment, it has far more to do with the users history.  They use a progressive ban system here, so while a first infraction will only get you a warning, the next will be a one day ban, next a three day ban, and so on.  A two week ban means there was a history of flaming people and so the ban length was due to that.  

Also, I personally have not seen any kind of bias from the moderators as to console preferences factoring into the moderations handed out and I have been here a while.  However, if you feel this site isn't for you then it isn't for you.

Also, for future reference so you don't get angry posters coming in here about their ban length, maybe you guys should explain the progressive moderation system in their initial warning?  Maybe just a quick little blip that can be copied and pasted?

All the progressive system says is this: if you continue to have the same issues and not adapt to avoid said issues, then you will see increased penalties when you commit these issues again and again.

Flame someone for the first time? A warning.
Do it again? A day.
Again? 3 days.
Again? 5 days.

We expect all users to be the best they can be on here, and to leave bad habits behind. That's all we ask when it comes to this system of moderation. But also note that we do give our mods leeway to take in context and how each post carries with it certain qualities, situations, and standards.

So yeah, the progressive system... with a human touch. Yay!

Could a moderator please remove my posts on Materia blade's wall? Me and hynad were having a bit of a heated discussion there, but we've since moved on the PM because Materia's wall wasn't the correct place to have that discussion. Hynad removed his posts, but for some reason I can't do the same with mine. Sorry for that. Me and hynad sorted everything out in a civilized matter.
