The report on the death of the mod team is greatly exaggerated. ^_~

I'm really proud of the way my team has been working together as of late to come to decisions and try to find a firm but fair judgment on a plethora of issues. We may not always get it right, but we always try to come together to make decisions that we alone couldn't make.

I really do mean that, I appreciate all the work, time, and effort you guys put into VGChartz.

If that is the reason why I haven't been banned for so long I applaud you too :)

It's not that I didn't try.

Can vgchartz have an annual purge where all rules go out the window for a day except for say posting porn, racism and homophobia? Oh and alts can come back or permabanned users?

I think that would just result in a lot of spam.

I once requested a much milder variant of this by making a thread where the thread maker could be attacked by anyone and no one would get banned for attacking OP. Even that was deemed too extreme.

I know legacy users get a better deal when it comes to moderation but there is a certain someone who is ALWAYS banned and is still only getting 1 day bans?

I think I know who you're referring to, and that user hasn't had any moderations for trolling in over a year surprisingly. So this ban was a little lower and matched up to the length of another user who was moderated in the thread.

I tend to view trolling and flaming moderations as somewhat interchangeable when it comes to ban length.

That said, I don't know who we're talking about

Is this the right place to suggest such a thing?

Due to the recent death of NintendoGamer, I think we should should start a memorial page on the forum for all the users known to have died. Include their profile pic, username, date of registering, and date of birth-date of death. If they're an adult, and specify before hand, or their family allows so afterwards more information could be included on the memorial page. I think that's a good way to honor their contributions to the community.

While it's a very nice thing thing to do, I don't think it would necessarily work as most of the time the current state of a person in real life is unknown. NintendoGamer was lucky in the regards that he had a couple of VGChartz users as friend on his Facebook page otherwise he would always be known as a great user who one day stopped using the site.

How many more that have simply vanish have actually died? Not very nice to think about :(

Yeah I'd imagine a lot of users over the last number of years have died without anyone knowing.

Good. We had the same topic posted three or four different times over the course of the last week, just because people can't get enough of bashing this game. There will be more tomorrow

Well... People creating threads to defend it are just giving the haters more opportunity to bash it... And since the game isn't even out yet, neither side even knows what they are talking about...

I'm very much looking forward to the game releasing... so I can stop seeing the never ending flow of topics about it.
