Well it makes PS gamers look kind of bad, but it is also good for comedic value. It's fun to make jokes about people doing silly things, I think the reactions to this definitely qualify for that.

I might be inclined to believe you, if there wasn't a huge deal made every single time the resolution for a game is announced. This isn't the first time a resolution announcement has caused a big reaction and I very much doubt it will be the last.

This time the reaction is warranted though. I don't even go to resolution threads normally but this is a different case.

Situations reversed, you'd be the first to call bullshit and spin. But since they "retracted" their comment, you choose to believe that nothing was said prior to this, so that the XBO doesn't look at a disadvantage.

Remember when Sony was designing the PS4? They met with each major 3rd party dev, including Ubisoft, and asked them what they wanted in a next-gen console. Sony gave the console Ubisoft wanted and all of a sudden, they don't want to take advantage of that luxury?


Money talks. I've already seen the huge full page advertisement for Unity(on xbox1 of course) at gamespot.com. Could you imagine the ridicule Ubisoft and Microsoft would sustain if they released an inferior version of the game on the platform it was promoted on? Well now they have even more ridicule and embarrassment :P Much like the Tomb Raider 'exclusive(timed)' debacle. Seems like Microsoft can't catch a break and people are rightfully calling them out.


It happened last gen so why not this gen.

but it's Ubi's responsibility (as far as providing their customers the best experience possible on each platform) to get the most they can out of each platform.  They are making a concerted effort to NOT do that if it's the same on Xbox and PS4 since they know as well as you or I that it is not the same power level we're talking.

Is it really though? Have Ubisoft ever claimed their games are the most amazing games of all time on a technical level? Nope. Their only responsibility is to make fun games, whether that involves very high level graphics or not doesn't really matter that much.

it's not about how pretty their games are overall.  Not having it look better on PS4 compared to X1 is laziness and/or forced parity for a lesser system.  Same principal as if X1 version was made to look like WiiU or WiiU was held back for the sake of PS3 versions of games like AC3.  Hell what if PC was held back to force parity with PS4?  Terrible practice and it would show they either weren't trying to provide the best experience possible on each individual platform or they were simply being bought.  Same principal applies here.

It would be very unwise of them to give ps4 owners the finger right now. Especially seeing as they will account for up to 70 percent of the sales. Also why is this thread still up?
