The current onslaught of Nintendo dlc is very worrisome, ALTHOUGH much of the dlc is releasing many months after the game's launch.

So hopefully these dlc are still being made rather than pre planned.

Seems like the main complaint so far is with Mario Golf, but people forget that it came with a standard amount of content for Mario Golf games AND was ten dollars cheaper than a normal 3DS game. That means you could get twice the amount of content normally in Mario Golf games for just 45$

Fantasy Life is an oddball one too that straddles the lines of bad with the way they are localizing the older game with improvements of the GotY version without including the GotY version's extra content but charging for it. Golf, honestly, I was fine with since it was already "sale priced" with how they launched it.

HyWa and MK8 are fine renditions since both have more than enough content on their discs, and the former is already oppressively content packed.

One problem with the localization delay issue is that if Fire Emblem Awakening's DLC was free outside of Japan, then Japanese people would get mad that they had to pay for the stuff while people overseas don't have to. So you can't please everyone.

Of course, they could just have made a special edition for Japan with all DLC included, after the overseas launch, but then Japanese people would have to pay again (if they bought the first edition but not the DLC), so that spawns another question, who will have to pay more?

mario golf was sold for less than the usual 40$, 30$.
for those who wont buy the dlc, it is a great deal. for those who would buy, it would be 45$.

i think it is a pretty fair day one dlc.

Mario Kart 8 did it right. If future Nintendo games follow its methods, I will be thrilled. It's good DLC for a good deal, that you would never expect to be in the game from the start. I happily pre-ordered.
