He isn't universally hated because unlike Fish, he actually has talent. ;)

I'm not exactly sure if that translates well for today and in the near future ...

Much like Phil Fish not a whole lot of customers value his work currently but if this was 5th and 6th gen you'd have a point. There's a saying that "a developer is only as good as their last game". What irks me though is that despite them both getting into the same type of mudslinging engagement cases like this a lot of people on the internet cheer on Kamiya rather than respond with ridicule just like Phil Fish's end.

Between Okami, Devil May Cry, and Bayonetta, Kamiya's more than proven himself in my eyes.

Fish, on the other hand, made Fez, which I hated.

I definitely liked Devil May Cry a lot as well as a bunch of other hack'n'slash fans but that game was 2 generations ago along with Okami. Bayonetta was last generation and that was 5 years ago. His last game wasn't exactly too hot ...

I can see why some people find Fez to be pretentious but hiting 1 million copies at indie status is nothing short of impressive and their bottomline by profits appear to be extremely good. I've got extremely high hopes for Scalebound to be just as impressive as the original Devil May Cry but with Platinum Games, things seem not to be so rosy for them on the trendy front ...

Kamiya may be a bit mean, but these people deserve it.

Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

wow didn't know it was a crime to troll the troll. FMD.

Kamiya also supervised Bayonetta 2, which I expect to shortly join the ranks of the first game, Okami, and Devil May Cry, at least in my estimation.

Fez was successful, but to me it typifies almost everything I dislike about the indie circuit.

Why don't we let the customers decide what it's value is worth ?

As for your second statement you could not be more on target from what I thought.

Cos I find myself mostly disagreeing with the customers, so them getting what they want isn't necessarily in my best interest. ;)

Fair enough ...

Kamiya should be put in charge of Nintendo's twitter accounts.
